Scotch Bonnet are missing from my collection. Really need to get one. The specials here are bhut jolokia, indian finger, and datil pepper from Florida.

Touche :) I'm hoping to wrangle or trade for some MOA Bonnets at THP after general harvest. Maybe tempt them with tiger striped seeds :D

Awesome Sauce

Hey guys...big hot pepper fan here though I've neverntried growing them....where is a good place to get seeds from ?

Also, is it possible to grow outside in the North East US ?

puckerbutt, fatalii.net, buckeye, pepperlover.com.

You're pretty late on the season for super hots, but if you can drag them inside (like I have to :D) then there is always time.

http://www.chileplants.com/ These guys are the bomb, live plants, fresh chilies and seeds galore. I've ordered from them and they rock, I have 12 of their live plants in my garden right now.
Plus they're up in your neck of the woods.

I've not grown the Reapers but much of what I've heard has sounded like a poorly worked cannabis line. Some of them seem to be incredibly incredibly hot, and I've had friends get Reapers they thought were only on par with a habanero. Seems unstable still despite the breeder claiming the line is stable.

usually overwintering means bigger plants and more productive. most chili varieties can live several years. baccatums up to 5 years. rocotos up to 30 years.

I like overwintered pepper plants, they grow out really bushy and give more yeld and they start to produce earlier.

Hot peppers, especially the super hots, thrive on neglect. If your debating whether they need water or not, DON'T WATER and be sure to put a layer of mulch over and around the base of the plant to help with soil moisture retention. Have at least 3" deep mulch if you're using containers or pots. Use a solution of Seaweed and fish emulsion sparingly when you feed/water them. Good luck everybody!

Any input on the rocotos? I have zero capsicum pubescens in my collection...
