Hello all,

Going out again in the morning for some steelies.

Wohoo, gotta nice one on Friday.

Got my secret weapon...crawlers and shrimp with a splash of "fish sauce".

They love it.

HMMMM, cold and cloudy...well, a few pulls on the whip and we will see whats up in a hour.

...well, the sun is starting to break through the fog. Breakfast is done. My lunch is packed and I am warming up the EQ for a session and then its off to slay some steelies.

Killing anything is going against nature for us... If we had no other options then certain actions could be made to eat.

I am a vegan and fully aware of our true nature, meat is not for human consumption many people would argue with this But its ok... I understand.

When we are awakened we have clarity on life.

Blessings, peace :ying:

Not trying to start an argument man, as I have a very close friend who has been a strict vegetarian since the 70's, but aren't plants killed when you eat them?

When I am going to eat a fish and not release it, whether bass or tuna, I look it in the eye and thank it for its life. I tell it it is not going to die in vain and they relax completely and let me do the dead. Wild creatures understand the circle of life and there is a completely pure moment in eating what you catch if you notice it.

Everyone and everything has to eat to survive, its a fact of life. Life, death, life, death..it is just a cycle ..of life. Death must occur in respect of life, that is the key.. and on that note there is a yellowtail that needs to come out of my freezer on onto the barbie for some hungry mates! ;)

LMAO... well, the little brookies in the headwaters around here don't get big at all... most are 4-5 inches long... a 10-12 incher is a trophy

But what they lack in size they completely make up with their bright colorations.

And even the smallest ones fight really hard.

You can only catch these fellas way up in the headwaters that are usually only a few feet across... The fish spook real easily but they aren't that hard to catch if you can just get the bug in front of em without too many false casts (none) then they aren't hard to catch..

Often, you have to lie on the ground a few feet behind the hole and bow-&-arrow cast (its basically just a little flick) under the rhododenderons to pocket water..

I guess not gettin your fly hung up in the bushes is the hardest part.

Sometimes Im just in the mood for headwater brookie fishing.. more often than not though, I just fish a hatchery supported stream..

Western North Carolina has some really nice trout water if you're into fly- fishing.

I've fished around Ashville when I was in the army at Ft. Bragg, beautiful area.

Hello all,

Just one steelie today.

Yeah, I miss the morning bite.

Would be there now except I had to come home.

I will go back on Monday.

Haven't really been out much, the high season is getting going and I'm at work 50+ hours a week. I did catch a 3 lb blue catfish just dragging a zoom speed craw with a 1/8 oz tungsten slip weight, last Saturday. If I would have caught 4 or 5 more then I would have ate really well on Sunday hehe. Glad to see everyone is getting out and doing some fishing. Keep it danK and tight lines!

Hello all,

Planning to get the morning bite on. Wally World opens at 6am, I have to get some slip
bobbers and some jigs and mice tails.

Then its 5 miles to the pond.

It looks like its going to be a great day tomorrow...not too hot.

Anyway, perhaps I will drop in in the morning while I do a bag.

Wished you all could go.

Hello all,

Just can't stand it...the weather is beautiful and I just can't stay at home when there is fishing to be done and buds to smoke.

Guess I will just have to go fishing.

Bluefish are keeping me sane, thank Jah for fishing! Yellowtail season is over here now so dreaming/prepping for the next season! Next time you plant a normal tree sapling in the yard, dig a big hole, put down rock chip or sand and then a bit of compost and then throw in a fat carp. Put a bit more compost over and fill the hole with the baby tree. Watch it grow!
