I go to Nimbin a few times a year, outside of Mardi Grass. I rarely buy bud but when I do the quality is fine. The trick is to refuse to purchase the crap that will be offered to you. Just say you are after better quality and they will magically find it.

Why not just offer fair price for fair trade? Just like any other product/business.

The fact that cannabis is illegal makes it a bit unlike other products/businesses.

No doubt lesser quality product ends up in the hands of tourists. To some extent they probably are being ripped off. I reckon a lot of tourists are only casual pot users, rather than medical patients or regular stoners; perhaps weaker quality isn't a bad thing. Medical patients and regular smokers can probably tell they are being ripped off and refuse what is on sale. You can always refuse to buy if you think it isn't good enough quality.

Only that there is no recourse to bad business practices. A rip off is still a rip off.

I agree that inferior product should be turned down but add that it shouldnt really be offered in the first place at high prices.

Im just glad I haven't had to buy pot in 15 years apart from when travelling.

went there. had to cryovac and hide our stash just to make sure ... when we got to the roadblock all bays were full (thanks very much to the locals who passed us slowly driving down the mountain roads) and we were waved thru.

looking at the posts above this, our own dope was the best we found. people who had purchased in Nimbin preferred ours and I didn't want to share any of theirs. it smelled awful.

Camping grounds very full, this large number of people not reflected in the crowds at the Parade (but it was nice). Police presence much less than last year altho you'll see from the pic below they were there all right ...

i must of been right next to you sat and not known it ! it was a great trip smoked some great sativa hybrids and a lot of indic a cross;s up there was a great time overall and got some wicked strains , i must of dodged 3 police roadblocks at least when. i was up there for almost a month around that area i did notice a lot more police coming closer to MG time, thanks for putting it on guys see ya next year ~

Sounds like you blokes had a good time....GoodO.....I went to last years Mardi Grass.....Stayed for 3 days....I was on the hunt for some good N.S.W hooter....but it was the same story as Sat.....The smoke I had was better than what was being offered by the locals....Also scored some seeds from a couple of the blokes from the OZ Stoners forum....One of the varieties was called Great Southern Land....Planted them out late last year....turned out to be fizzers.....Just did not seem to be acclimatized to my area...Very small plants....They all got reefed out...Another pack of seeds were a bunch of mixed sativa's ......Have not tried any of them yet.....

Back in 2005.... I passed thru Nimbin, a couple weeks after the Mardi Grass. Within a minute of parking my vehicle, I had this chick sell me an ounce of good bush weed....for $200. The herb was nice round chunky buds, that really had some wack...It was potent stuff.....Also scored a ball of bubble hash after talking to a bloke from Queensland, who had been living in Nimbin for a few months at that time...That turned out to be a good little stop.
