Looks like 1/2 plants in the led tent is growing balls

I trimmed most of the shade leaves from all plants to get more light to the nodes secondary branching

Photo day

It's easy to see now, which is the pick of the litter
. I like big phat plants and I cannot lie :dancer:

She's ~ 15 diameter I tucked some of the side branches under the Cube bars

You might notice I removed a bunch of shade leafs

More light for the secondary branching and the soon to be crib development

The 2 in led are growing nice as well, though the one on the left is showing balls

Note the pic of the 1 x 4 WW with diffuser removed.

I am using that panel sideways in the led tent

Thanks MM

Considering how many journals and threads I have done
on IC over the years, it was really petty of them, without any warning

My 2 x 3ft BML light bars shipped yesterday

There's an outside chance I will have them by Saturday

THEY should provide a major contribution to the led tent, but damn, the big plant is up stairs. She would benefit more, so...

It was a beautiful day.

I wanted to go for a nice motorcycle ride and run some errands, but had to wait for the light bars

It's 6pm Saturday, and the bars finally arrived.

They have way more 450 and 660 than I chose (I hate when that happens), so time will tell if they do as well (or better) than I anticipated

I see what happened. The pattern on the site only shows 15 diodes, and the 3 footers have 45 diodes, so the pattern is 12" x 3ft in this case= 36", so what I chose was multiplied by 3

I am seeing spots from looking up (and not directly) to count them

Changed nutes to kick them off. Now 570ppm

Doubling the wattage should make them eat more too

A grow update + possible game changer

Light scattering nano-particles imitates Day Light LED, but is it a game changer for us?

http://www.electronicproducts.com/O...g_nanoparticles_to_imitate_real_sunlight.aspx

It is not so much amazing as it is comforting to know how much fatter my 2 led plants have gotten since doubling the amount of light (pics 1&2)

It seems the one on the left may be a female after all

Also the hot5 continues to grow, but is also filling in since I repositioned the 6500s closer to the middle (pics 3&4)

I also added a second level to the Cube as the upper side branches are almost long enough to tie down

It occurred to me that by watering every 30 minutes my plants might be growing too fast! lol, but true

I probably should have cut back (increased time intervals) 2 weeks ago

I usually increase the time intervals once sex shows, but decided to do so now. Sex should be showing any day, anyway.

Now feeding 30 seconds/45 minutes, which will soon stretch to 30/60 minutes

No science behind the 30 seconds. It's simply that my DIY flood table, which is an inverted large tote lid. The perimeter lip cannot handle longer feed cycle without spilling over. Besides, during the 30 seconds, the plants are getting ample nutes

LED

I had to lower the plants as the tops were abut to hit the 2 ufos

I need to lower the 2 BML bars also.

Too early for 'besties', but the 2 under the hot5 are loaded with potential bud sites (or nut sacks). Not sure yet, but they should all be showing sex any day now

The 2 in the hot5 are literally guzzling nutes/water @ > 1/2g per day. I have to top off the rez every couple hours

Really good news:

I finalized the spectrums for the BML Spydr 600

It's not ideal, as they have built in constraints. You can choose the spectrums on a single 12" section, which is then simply multiplied by the number of feet of each bar- and all bars must be identical, and be on at all times. However, the bars can be tilted away if need be until buds set

Still, it should way outperform the hot5 especially during flower

Hope to have by next weekend.
If not I may supplement with the 1 x 4 WW ceiling panel until the Spydr 600 arrives

FYI they also introduced a Spydr 1000 with 8 bars

It' a sad day

Anybody need some BIG Mexican pollen?

The early signs are the Big Mexican has balls

Hard to believe as the shape and branching suggests female

I cut BM (Big Mex) way back, and switched its' position with what is likely a female (pics 1 & 2).

She is now easier to access

I took 3 cuttings from her and put them in the LED tent.

I also pulled that male

FYI the leafs are great for juicing

I give most of them to my friend whose mom is dealing with the effects from chemo treatment

I will move BM to the led tent and put that female upstairs

I can then increase the light schedule for the clones

hey petflora

its funny how most plants kill it in hydro compared to soil. and how some like the ss just love hydro over soil. you are going to love the pallet once cropped. hydro cultures def bring out the best of her in everyway

thanks for the updates, they look awesome. do you use a 700 or 500 ppm inversion?

You are welcome

INVERSION?

I use .5 CONVERSION

but even then I go by observation. Each pheno is different

Also, I think the more light the plants get the higher the ppm/EC that the plants can handle, and even need

My nutrient of choice is Hydroponic- Research V + B is a dry one step complete formula, including fulvic acid

I have a hq RO, so I do not need t pay shipping costs for water

Due to BM (Big Mex) being a male, I chopped him down to size to fit in the led tent, and moved the hopefully female to the hot5 tent. She is the smaller of the 2: the bigger one was there, but behind BM

I took clones from 2 plants that I hope will be females. They are under a dome in the led tent. As it turns out, the larger plant is for certain a female (see mag glass for pistils)

Also took some pics of my High Performance Rez

I use a cooler + ice jugs

Note the 2 magnets are in the upper left corner. They are in repulse, but are still attracted to the large nut. Must be one hell of an energy field between them. Nutes circulate 24/7 through the magnets

I added the plastic bottle this grow. It works well. Once the nutes get low, I can see it, plus I can hear a sucking sound when the nute level is lower than the pump inlet

Since swapping the plants around, not getting the best use of the BML bars in the led tent

The 2 ufos should be fine to get clones to root

Thinking to move them to the hot5 tent as side lighting for now

Also, finished off this batch of V + B, nutes came out to 980, so using it to replace consumed nutes in HP Rez

I moved the 2 BML bars to the hot5 tent- one on each side at staggered heights

The 2 plastic domes in the led tent foreground have clones in them

The timing is right as my clones will take 3-4 weeks before needing more than the 2 ufos, and I should have my SPYDR 600 in ~ 10 days, so...

Quite interested to see how the girls bulk up below the canopy now

tall/lanky - cheese

they all have that blueberry cheese smell and taste, i have just listed the dominant features to their respective phenos

I love many things about 4ft hot5s BUT, life expectancy sucks for a quality minded grower. Costs me ~ $200 a year to retube.

The BML LED SPYDR 600 consists of 6 @ 3ft bars that can be kept close (veg) then spread to 3 x 3 for flowering

So $999 for this is a bargain to me. I fully expect the BML to be loafing along in 5 years, so it's a draw, money wise, but it's said to be equivalent of 600w hps, so a bonus- more light for the money

The cage is from Discovery. It's a frame for children's play tent

Cost $20 enough parts for like 6 cubes
