Howdy friends
Feels amazing to be starting my first new diary in over two years. Its been a long hiatus from growing, but its finally time to get back into the real swing of things. During my break from gardening I moved from Michigan out to the west coast and started a really amazing job working with wholesale and retail nurseries. I work on a daily basis with growers who have hundreds of acres of greenhouse and field stock growing at any given time. Its expanded my horizons and has introduced me to some really amazing growers, both of nursery stock and herb LOL.
If you have ever seen my grows in the past you know what I used to run. For those of you who havent here is what I used to use.
Medium- Promix BX with a little added perlite
Nutrients- GH Flora Nova Grow/Bloom, Dynagro Silica, Kool bloom powder, Happy frog tomato/veg dry mix, diamond nectar, root stimulator.
The look and smell of what I was producing was A++++, but the flavor was well.... Really lacking and a bit harsh even when perfectly flushed and cured.
This has lead me all the way back to how I first started growing, which was 100% organic soil filled with tons of micorhyzee and worm castings and feeding it with guano's and compost teas. It may be a little bit slower (mostly because I dont have my regimen back down pat yet) but it pays off in the end with a superior product.
My current soil mix is super basic. Veg soil consists of 4 parts FFOF 3 parts worm castings and one part added perlite. I inoculate my soil and roots directly with Great White Myco's and have had great results reducing and in most cases eliminating transplant shock.
Flowers soil is the same as veg with the addition of one part 0-5-0 bat guano.
I'm feeding this soil with a mix of compost tea's with added mineral supplements like Excelerite. Also using an organic liquid deep sea mineral concentrate called Foli-Organic. Other than that I'm top dressing with fox farm fruit and flower dry fert mix. Plants are loving life and getting bigger by the day.
Currently I have 1k running 18/6 with 13 ladies under it. In a week, they will be spread under 2k and put into flower. 11 of the 13 are a mix of two different cuts of sour diesel. One is the West coast special and the other is ECSD. They vary just a bit in size and shape, but flavor stays true between both of them. I also have one each of Headband and Flo.
The Sour's and the flo are all in 5 gallon nursery containers. The Headband just got potted up into a 7 gallon pot today. Took clones earlier today and will be staking all the girls this afternoon. I have been pinching them just about every other day to help my lower branches catch up with the tops. I would like to have a nice scrog canopy this first round if possible even though my plant count is so low.
Im getting some pics uploaded now and will get them on here later today. Excited to be back with the homies here on IC. Lets rage!
