My experience in the service bay of quick fixes is how I made a lot of my money . A quick fix is just that and requires further attention when time/$$$ permits . More often than not , people forget . Fix-a-flat is without doubt convenient , however , it has been my experience that the un-used material not engaged in stopping your leak needs some where to go . When the leak stops the remainder of the stuff collects in the bottom of the tire where we now will end up with a tire vibration/wear complaint . Stuff Happens !

I just got a flat (slow leak self tapping sheetmetal screw) on my good car. I couldn't get the lugs off. I pumped it up by hand using 300 strokes of the old fashioned hand pump. I drove it over to the tire store which is fairly close to my house. I was so mad I went out and bought a huge breaker bar, short extension, and a #21 impact wrench socket. I also put a cheater pipe in the trunk. I bet I get the lugs loose next time. Oh I also bought new tires as the old ones were getting thin.

Me. just change the thing.

A word of caution to those of you that use fix a flat and its variants. If you use this product on a flat, make sure you let your tire shop or whoever is about to dismount the tire, that you used it.

If you just happen to have an old can, (1999 or prior) it may contain explosive gases that can be ignited while removing the tire. I know its not likely, but I have seen old cans that have been rattling around in the trunk for years.

Take care.

Eww run flats? They ride like LLR tires but twice as bad... That's why no manufacturers use them anymore. Keep wd-40 in case it's just from hitting a curb etc. Jack the car up, fill the tire with flammable aerosol and put a lighter to it.. POP!-Tire is back on the bead. The flame will self extinguish when it runs out of oxygen btw. And yeah, work fast before the cops come!

I ask my driver to call for another car. If he can change the tire
before the replacement car arrives there is a bonus.

If I'm driving solo I just change it myself. lol!

Wadda u do???

You get out the good jack that you always carry,You know, the one that fits THAT car; along with blocks of wood to set the jack on...
You get out the full size spare tire that you always have in your trunk...(you also check the air pressure on it every few months).
And you get out the 1/2 inch breaker bar with a socket that fits your lug nuts, to get them loose, and the cross shaped lug nut wrench to spin 'em off with..

And ya just do it... Takes 15 freaking minutes, and you're on your way...

A rich girl is riding around in the back of daddy's chauffeured limo...
The old chauffeur had retired and the new driver is an idiot...
The limo gets a flat and the dummy can't figure out how to get the hubcap off the rim.
The rich girl (who has some common sense), says to the chauffeur,
"Do you wanna screwdriver?"
The new chauffeur says, "Might as well, I can't get this damn hubcap off!"

31 years ago I changed it, in 5 minutes flat. Only flat I've ever had..something on the fwy. No other damage to the car. Now, you can change the flat and get a pretty good body/fender man, to repair the damage. Cars just ain't what they use to be..all I gotta say.
Now, I stay in the car buckle up and call AAA.

I make it a point not to drive in 'dead' zones, for phones...or anything else, for that matter! jpt
