Plants droop when c02 is turned on

Does anyone know anything about this? My plants were doing great and all perky. So I decided to turn on the c02 gen. The next morning they were all droopy and could barely hold the leaves up.

The room was vented periodically and the c02 set at 1000ppm

The humidity and heat didint go up much so the only thing it could be is the c02.

I turned the c02 off and vented the room and within a couple hours they were all perked up again.

Is it ok to give them c02 if they are drooping, or is it posioning them with to much?

Co2 is only needed and used during the light hours

They are still in veg so the light is on 24/7.

the plants werent over watered or under watered.

24h lights is not doing any good. better go 18/6.
plants release co² mostly during night... if there is no night.. and the air enriched with co² you dont need to wonder about ur plants going crazy

i had this same issue...it was really driving me nuts. are you by any chance at high altitude?

No, im not at a high altitude, but im glad to hear that someone else had the same issue. So far they are doing much better at ambient c02 levels. I am going to try to slowly increase the amount in hopes of letting them acclimate to the higher c02 levels.

cannabisfox, I have heard many different opinions on what light schedule to run for veg. I have noticed myself that with certain strains they seem to grow much faster under a 24/7 HPS light compared to a 18/6 or 12/1 under a MH light.
I am in a hurry to veg these plants out so im looking for fast growth,but in the future i plan on cutting the light time down to conserve energy and cut back on heat.

Anyone have any info on 24/7 not being good for plants? I have heard that it is good to give them a rest, they grow roots during the dark, etc, but im not sure if there is any real evidence supporting this or if it is just logical thinking.

Try starting at 500ppm and adjusting upwards from there as needed

I just added a co2 gen to my flowering room and 12 hours later they look like hell. Exactly as you describe. Controller was calibrated and set to 1250ppm. I'm going to try slowly bringing the levels up and seeing what happens. Hope they look better when the lights turn on!!

I remember reading a thread not too long ago about problems with some CO2 generators releasing some other chemical into the room. The person who had that problem switched to CO2 tanks and the problem went away. This may be the case in your situation but I have no direct experience because I use CO2 tanks instead of generators.

I am currently experiencing similar sadness on 30% of my ladies in my sealed veg room at 1100 ppm.

Had same problem. Start with 300 go up gradually every day. 1500 is to much from the jump. They will droopy and look sick as hell. First make sure they recover before you reintroduce the co2.

I noticed after some of my neem oil treatments, on the way from veg into the flower room , that introduction into a Co2 environment, caused this droopy sad looking plant. Don't know if that's it, or maybe connected with another sprayed application?

I think that was in Gettogro's big thread. His burners were producing ethylene in the sealed room from lack of oxygen, poisoning his plants iirc.

Gotta be it. Just too much too fast. Thanks for helping diagnose..although now I feel like a complete donkey.

Here's a pic of my Gorilla Glue #4 room when the co2 burner was turned on, to 1250ppm, and another 12 hours later. I really, really hope they come back. This is my first indoor grow in over five years, it had been going so smooth.

Update this morning..

12 hours of lights on with no added co2 and my babies look damn near perfect again. Feel like I got away with murder. I'm now scared of that fucking generator, but might start low and slowly raise ppms to see how they do. Keep yas posted..

Unreal. I turned the burner on (hesitantly) last night, at lights on, and set controller to 380. Ppms got to mid 500's. This morning the plants look like complete shit. So discouraged..

Did you research that thread where the CO2 burner was releasing something besides CO2? Switch to tanks instead.
