Leds From ebay. Anyone able to help

sourpuss

U get what u pay for. Stay away from china electrical products. 450watts led from china could spell house fire. German, north american, lots of euro countries make good quality.

Quality matters, especially when ur harvest is ridding on it. And u sure as hell dont want to wake up to fire... the whole world is gonna come put that fire out if it dont kill u it gets u busted at the least....

Think about fire control... there r automatic extinguishers that hang from the ceiling. Bout 50 bucks to save your ass.

Tips for choosing effective LED grow light:
Higher Lumen
Lumen and Wavelength is the key to decide if the grow light is effective to promote the growth of plants, not
the Wattage.
Suitable Wavelength
Plants need different wavelength light for different
periods, and different plants absorb different wavelength light.
Lower Wattage
To save more electricity!
Best lighting time
10-14hrs(led lighting time plus sunlight lighting time)

these are the specs on the lights above.
if anyone is able to see if its crap from the specs

As it draws only 14 watts I would not expect very much.

A single 30 watt cfl would probably be better than this.

The cheap Chinese panels are better as gay disco lights than for growing plants and get led,s a bad name from the ones I have seen in use.

can anyone here tell what the wattage on these are and if they are junk ?

At 14W I would seriously look somewhere else , you get what you pay for .
Always check the sellers rep; to see what others are saying .

I have a Chinese led switchable panel that I use for veg it's rated at 200w at the wall. This panel works really well for veg and autoflowers but I would never use it to flower photo plants just autos and veg plants.

I watched a side by side it seemed more legit and unbiased with HID vs LED.
It still seems like LED arent up to par yet.

What i mean is it seems like alot of people are trying to make them win rather then let them win in comparison.

I Just stumbled across a bunch of LED on ebay while looking for something else and thought wow if its that cheap maybei could grab some for experiments , but then i started to see a lot of the same results we had years ago where a handful of people where getting totally different results then everyone else making them look incredible but unrealistic.

And i would rather not buy into just yet till the results are undeniable and there are a lot more unbiased reports.

The model from growlights.uk would be better

But would pay no attention to the marked down prices , just marketing.

This review is accurate for these compact arrays.

The item was physically as described but thats as far as it went - useless as a growlight as the panels are quite small and they only put out light directly below them and have to be so close that you really need 1 light per plant - very expensive way to use growlights!!! Wouldnt recommend unless you have lots of money!

Forgot to say, if they use six or more cheap computer fans to cool them , as most do , the noise can be a problem esp in a stealth grow.

Yes personally I like the new lumigrow lights now those lights produce results. My buddy has a hydro store and he has the smallest panel covering a 4x4 flood and drain table and it's does it with no problems. I think it's a pro325 or 350 something like that.

That's the most honest ad I have seen , and would be happy to give it a try at that price.

Lets start with the obvious; mj needs a FULL spectrum of light that covers the entire PAR, not just for peaks.

If you need to go 'cheap' but still chinese high bay lights in day light and warm white for much better grows under much better spectrums. Single spectrum chips/cobs are more efficient and easier to drive

Come by my thread to see WHITE only in action

I see a ton of LEDS on ebay are they all junk ?

For instance Quad-band 450 LED Grow Light Panel Hydroponic Plant Lamp Blue Red Orange White its 2 fixtures for less then 60 $

then i see ones that are like 300$ each.

Here is a link

can anyone here tell what the wattage on these are and if they are junk ?

Those lights are made to replace HID with a better colour rendition and reduced maintenance , my local garage has just fitted similar over the pumps.

Have you found any par data for them ?

hey

hey

Hey buddy that's the exact led light I am using for veg and it works really good. I have also flowered out autos under that light. I wouldn't try to throw more than 2 to 4 plants under it for flower if they are regular seeds. The light has a very nice foot print and is also worth the money.

On another note there are some more leds on ebay that aren't that exspensive and they are really nice panels also and I think they are a UK based company called vipar leds. They are very nice panels and they aren't overpriced and they also offer 5w led panels.

I am actually gonna be posting some of my led panels up for sale because I have a few to many when I went on a led kick. I'll be listing them on ebay in the next day or 2. I have a vipar led that looks exactly like the green one that you posted in the link it is also switchable. Another one that I have is a nice vipar sqaure panel not as long as that one and is more sqaure covers a nice area and rated at 360w.

I have another with x2 lenses that is also 360w that will be posted and I also have 2 lighthouse hydro ufo leds 90w that I might be posting as well..So be on the lookout on ebay or pm me and I'll give you my ebay user name and I can let you know when I post them.. The 300w vipar led panel i might keep and actually sell the green panel that'you posted in that link. So if you interested pm me amd I'll give Ya my ebay user name I might post them all in one auction or seperate auctions and will most likely be a steal then what you can buy them for. I have only had the panels for about 6 months I was gonna use them all for flower but decided
To flower just with my 1k hid and all the other panels have been just sitting around.

Sorry for the rant but figured maybe you might be able to get a good deal if you are located in the states.

thanks my friend for your reply, mine is a little reality of self , nothing more than a regular 2 or 4 automatic !
then you say that with a 300w panel led by ( the green one for instance) you could have a decent bloom ? !

Then I informed a little on his friend of vipar ..
I saw it on ebay and on its official website ..

http://www.viparled.co.uk/collections/series-b-1/products/vipar-b2x3-led-grow-light

how come on the official website there are only 3 models of lamps , while on ebay we find others who seem copies of Chinese LED ? !

while this is what you were talking about you , that looks identical to the green and precise :

- VIPAR
http://www.ebay.it/itm/VIPAR-500W-L...2017155?pt=US_Hydroponics&hash=item19ebe7c403

- GREEN
http://www.ebay.it/itm/2PCS-150W-Le...Seed_Starting_Hydroponics&hash=item417b4cab19

which of these do you think should orient themselves with respect to vipar ?

http://www.ebay.it/itm/New-VIPAR-Re...Bottle_Warmers_Coolers_LE&hash=item2a393c066a

http://www.ebay.it/itm/VIPAR-5W-LED...Bottle_Warmers_Coolers_LE&hash=item27dd15be96

http://www.ebay.it/itm/VIPAR-500W-L...2017155?pt=US_Hydroponics&hash=item19ebe7c403

the last one is my favorite ... then that would be a copy of the green light that I had returned to the first post .
But it also has the possibility of the access key for the mode grow and bloom ?

Hey t-bag, choosing of LED light depends on growing space, same as HPS. From my own experience, for 1^m is OK "450W" (~230W real consumption), try to choose light with ~50W per square feet at least.
I have also Vipar LED lamp, bought last year in UK ebay (because customs & VAT), check results in my thread [Czech, pictures on end pages] (1st indoor round, now ~2 weeks till end).

I'm going to build my own light, based on 4x 100W Bridgelux COB, only warm white emitters. Next round there will be, I hope, some results for LED lamps comparison.

Good luck with choosing "THE RIGHT" light for you! :]

Most panels sold in EU and USA are just rebranded chinese panels. some of them are customized at the factory, but they contain basically same componenents. some of them are better quality than other, most of the time it's based on luck what you get, but the cheap ones aren't good at all.
