when storing clones in stasis in the fridge is there any concern over the prolonged dark period. im guessing not but why? i cant imagine they do considering how much this has been reported as an effective method without mention of this issue. just wondering how that works. is it because of them being dormant? any comments from those WITH EXPERIENCE OR ACTUAL KNOWLEDGE OF WHY THIS IS or isnt a problem please enlighten me. if you dont have knowledge and have other questions on this topic feel free to chime in. i just dont want to clog up thread with neg opinions or guesses. this isnt a question about whether this works or how to do it in general as there are already threads on the method im just looking for info on the effects of the long dark period that would be part of the process.
thanks

i would definitely try to maintain a light cycle for them.i prefer 24 hr. so it would be easy to either bypass the little switch that turns your fridge light on/off.. or you can get a small led or floro light in there.. battery powered led lanterns last quite a while..

I think that the cold temperatures causes them to go into stasis. I've rooted them after several weeks in the fridge and see no difference between them and fresh cuts.

I have kept cuttings in the fridge, in wet paper towels, and in Tupperware for 10 days before....and I noticed that they seemed to root faster...I have done this many times....not as long as 10 days most of the time, but 3-7 days.... and I always seems to notice faster rooting.

so its the cold and the lack of activity vs lights on after lights off while producing undifferentiated meristems that is probably the ticket. no growth to be affected by hormones, no hormones being produced because of no growth equals no flower induction. sounds good at least and its working for folks. they would notice if it wasnt believe me. i just flowered a clone that had unbeknownst to me gotten fliipped on a long ass car ride and it grew really fucking weird at first. i though it may have had bms or something looked like mutated leaves coming on took forever to start developing too. but once it snapped it was weird silngle fat bud leaves then three then five and now boom its vegging 2weeks after the others that didnt have roots on the ride. the rooted one was the goal and the snips were back up. the snips are over a foot and bushing the rooted one is barely on its third set of veg leaves. ha
