Medical Pot Patients Test 25-Mile Limit (Arizona)

My facebook friend filed a motion in court Monday: Medical Pot Patients Test 25-Mile Limit I wish him and everyone involved (including me) the best of luck! :thank you:

It involves removing the grow limit - no medical marijuana cardholder who lives within 25 miles "as the crow flies" of a dispensary can grow their own marijuana in Arizona. It's a "tag along" in the voter approved initiative that makes patients pay ridiculous prices from local dispensaries. They say it was crafted that way so big biz can make money and lock out the regular people. That's AT LEAST as greedy as big pharma if you ask me.

I once read that statistically most people never move more than 25 miles from where they are born. They are born and die within the same 25 miles.

It's partly how they supposedly catch high profile criminals and terrorism suspects.

Imagine moving 25 miles away. Just to grow some pot.

Duo to take on Arizona Medical Marijuana Program

Motion filed to remove 25 mile rule from Prop 203

The Judge hearing the case is "the Honorable Judge Susan Bolton will be hearing the case and oral argument if the case makes it that far. Judge Bolton’s name should be very familiar with most of us by now. Arizona’s SB1070 was shredded by Judge Bolton on the very same grounds Hayes is requesting a preliminary injunction and memorandum of law on, constitutionality."

That sounds like some good news. I've been watching this for months and NEVER thought it was going to get this far. Keith says the Republicans in this state shot themselves in the foot when they tried to repeal Obamacare and put in a state law: Equal privileges and immunities Section 13.

What is the delivery scene like in AZ? It seems like the dispensaries aren't so great?
Well deliveries on the map, like the ones here in town, only 1 is a licensed dispensary. I don't think the state of AZ recognizes unlicensed dispensaries that just deliver.

There's a big supply problem statewide for all the dispensaries. Another prime example of big money/big brother bureaucracy failing than just using good ole private enterprise.

hope things work out sf. working in exclusions & limitations is everywhere w these bills, really just w the intent of securing more of the pie... limit who can grow and who can sell. which basically mandates lower quality & higher prices. will be a nice victory.

I hate shit like this -kinda like what going on in Canada trying to take away the patients right/privilege to grow, and trying to force people to buy off their supplied , suppliers.

I hate being told what to do.

Problem with moving 25 miles away just to grow, is the they forced the dispensaries to spread out so that 90+% of the people ar now withing 25 miles of a dispensary. The road distance in stead of 'as the crow flies' will allow some peeps to grow their 12 plants. But generally, you'd have to move 'Way the fuck out in BFE' to find property far enough away.

The last MMJ newsletter that the state health dept. sent out said that 96% of patients were within the 25 mile bubbles. so only 4% of patients will be able to have 'grow authorization' on their cards.

Yeah, AZ will recognize any state's card or legal rec. but you can not enter an AZ dispensary. You have to get it from a patient.
