Flushing for harvest?

I would like to know the correct way to flush for harvest when growing in coco? I was told never to give a plant straight pH'd RO to a plant grown in coco, but would it hurt to give them the RO water the last few weeks? Or do I do 1/4 feeds? Thank you for the help everyone

The vast majority of coco growers flush with straight water or RO for the last 2-3 weeks of the grow. If you have to ask directions follow the herd:biggrin: I've seen posts from some guys who only flush coco for 5-7 days and some who use very weak nutes with no N to flush in coco. These guys are walking a mile or so from the main herd but in the same direction.

Allot has to do with nutrient. What does the company your using recommend? With advanced I'd have to flush for a week to 2. House and garden 3 days. But what you want is the plants to suck up the last bit of food from the leaves. Coco brands also mater cause some are harder to flush out due to amendments

I give them only ph'ed water for the last 10 days. The last few days I defoliate heavily so they can't feed from the remaining leaves. Fan leaves get defoliated slowly once the stretch is done and the plant's energy goes into bud formation. Lots of peeps do different things, really depends on what your nute regimen is, and how strong you've been feeding them. Have a look in the coco forum at some of the top rated grow shows. You'll learn a lot.

why add more junk to your plants let them use up there stored nutes, why is it so wrong to follow the herd stoned40years? its not like its some nute company trying to sell you something.

Bobbo next grow you have do one plant with straight RO and the other with a weak nute solution and see what its like.

Why? This is the coco forum so I'm referring to coco and nothing else. Plain water flush throws the plant into immediate shock and stress because plain water ruins the buffer in coco. Now this may be alright because the plant is going to die in a few weeks anyway. I'm not saying 1/4 strength nutes either, I was thinking even less and no N at all.
Anyway I never told him to use weak nutes, I said most people flush for weeks with plain/ro water.
Whats wrong with following herds? They always run over cliffs or walk meekly to the slaughterhouse:tiphat:

I don't think of it as flush as more of a prep for harvest,
coupled with the next use of the coco.

Less nutes is better than no nutes in coco. The plant
will mature either way, but for me the chop is just
the step before the drying stage.
