What can one expect from this interesting cross? Colors,potency,flavors,yield,etc. Looks promising and pretty stoked on your other work!


Been pondering the Rainbow Jones,Purple Cheddar as well....need to add some color to my stable...but you know, need to make sure the yield is decent as well...ahhhh the Unicorn strain

GSHC for me had 2 phenos. Got some that were exactly like SSSDH lemon with a hint of mint in there. The other pheno is the pic used for strain and thats the cookie pheno with some sativa thrown in there, tasted like a sweet pastry. Yield wise the SSSDH phenos are heavy and the cookies are on the lower end. I liked the SSSDH phenos the best personally.

Did you get some nice coloring? Have you grown any of their other strains?

with the gshc i got purpling in the leafs on most but the buds were normal colored. I find purple buds are weak potency and give a mellow stone buzz that i dont enjoy, im a sativa head high kind of guy. Yeah ive grown many CSG strains, Purple Cheddar, SSSDH, GSHC, Granddoggy, Fuel, CheeseNChong, Strawberry dogshit, Chemmy Jones, and I have some East Coast Hazes finishing up and just started some UK Chems...

I haven't had one person not be impressed with my purple pheno of lemon n lime jones Pro Headies. Actually every pheno was potent but the purple definitely didn't make it any less potent. Strong sativa buzz that its easy to over medicate on. Plus I grew out connoisseurs grand daddy purple and I had one pheno that was very potent and very purple but is no longer with me because the vegging was super slow. So connoisseur definitely has some potent purples!

Are the actual buds purple or just the leafs? Every single purple bud ive smoked has been on the lower end of connoisseur level potency for me. Ive had completely purple leafed plants that once trimmed are normal green buds that are high potency but non that are actual purple buds, one example would be the GDP pheno i found in granddoggy purps. She was completely purple leafed but once trimmed no purple and she was good potency and tasted like grapes.

Hey GSP i found your test thread. I wouldnt consider your lemon n lime purple bud. The best example of purple bud is Sickmeds green crack that ends up being purple crap. The buds are fully purple almost black on some.

Oh I have had plenty of potent purples, Obama Kush, Purple Kush from Seattle, GDP from waaaaay back, some Purple Haze (also from waaaaay back)....purpling is not correlated to lack of potency. I think what has happened over the years is that amateur breeders have selected ONLY for color...well, selected for color first and foremost. Thus losing potency along the way and leading to the myth that color = weak herb. Just my experience...

see i do think purpling buds correlates to lack of potency, im not talking about leafs that are purple making the buds look like they have purple in them once dry. Plants with purple buds with no green to me is a mutation and makes the plant absorb light differently giving the plant a weaker high, this is just my opinion.

I'd say it turned out pretty purple Pro Headies but I know what your saying. I grew out a few green crack s1s that were crazy purple and one was half pink and half purple. But they sucked. Weak sauce. Nothing like the gdp s1s which were very purple and very potent, but a different kind of purple. It doesn't glow purple like the purps or green crack s1s but its a nice light purple hue all the way through. But for the very bright, almost neon purple like the green crack s1s or the purps, I think you're maybe right. I haven't had a very potent purple like that before.

No i meant SSSDH lemon flavor with some mint flavor pheno, sorry.
