I gotta give up the cigs...

Unfortunately, I live, breath, eat and shit e-cigs and have researched the subject extensively. I go in front of city councils and debunk all the bullshit everyone talks about when a city is trying to ban them....

You have 4 main ingredients...

PG - proplene glycol
VG - vegetable glycerin
Nicotine
Food Flavoring

And EVERYONE consumes or use these ingredients in one way or another everyday. DONT think you consume nicotine? Google how much nicotine vegetables and fruit have...

I smoked Marlboro for two years. I could feel the effect it was taking on my overall health.

I desperately wanted to quit smoking cigs. It was very tough quitting. I failed several times trying to stop smoking. What finally worked for me was replacing the cigs with joints of fine cannabis. Every time I craved a Marlboro, I sparked up a joint instead. After a month and over an ounce of buds I finally kicked the habit.

Now when I smell second hand smoke of cigs, it makes me sick to my stomach.
I truly hate cigarettes. It is a dirty harmful habit with only detrimental results.

I have been off cig's for just over three months now using an ego vape w/nicotine. I was a 2-3 pack a day smoker. I never thought I would be able to quit cigs. This little device has kept me off cigs longer than anything I have ever tried. They work........quiting altogether would be the best option. But for now my nicotine vape is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. I can breath better than ever, and I don't stink like cigs anymore. My kids like that the most. No smell, and no smoke. No falling asleep with it in my hand and burning the house down and killing everyone.

Then one of the best things about it is........they make attachments that just screw onto the battery for vaping BHO. So really by getting one of these I have drastically reduced the amount of any kind of smoke that enters my body.

Patches are what worked for me. They have some significant advantages over other alternative nicotine delivery systems like e-cigs. Smoking cigarettes presents two problems:

First is the physical addiction, Anything that gets nicotine to your brain will take care of that. More vexing is the habit component - those cigarettes you smoke in response to something you do or somewhere you are. e-cigs let you continue these habits with some new ritual added to the mix. e-cigs continue everything but some of the toxic products of combustion.

Quitting the nicotine is going to hurt. I wanted to control that phase and eliminate all of the ritual. Sucks for one day while your body gets used to the lower dose. Even if I used the patches everyday for the rest of my life it would be less expensive and far less damaging than smoking. I allowed myself that much but got bored after a few weeks and haven't had any nicotine in any form for 3 years after smoking for 40.

My brother got off tobacco with some kind of pill. He still swears by it. I have know experience with it. Never heard a user say he was glad he started. That was enough for me. Only thing I smoke is well you know.

An itaste MVP vaporizer is a good vape device, but may not be what your would want at this point. Start with a eGo style e-cigarette. Its cheap, easy to use and you can get all the basics down before you move up to a device like the ITaste. An ego complete setup should be in the $20-$30 range...
The goal is to wean you off nicotine, you gradually go down in strength till you go to your desired level, or quit all together...
Ask away...

Thanks to all for your replies.
Krunch,, I took a few puffs on a friends e-cig about a year ago, but I didn't get a big enough, lung filling drag, to do the job.

Last week, another friend let me take a drag from his itaste MVP. I got the lung filling drag I feel like I need to switch over from the cigs...I know that the habit of holding a cig is part of the problem of quiting, but I think holding the MVP and dragging off it would work for me..

In comparing the MVP to a smaller device such as an e-cig, I like that the MVP probably only needs to have the battery recharged once a day.. I smoke 1 pack of cigs a day..

I just want a piece of equipment that isn't going to break due to cheap manufacture before it does the job I need it for; to wean myself off nicotine, so I don't have to inhale cigarette smoke into my lungs anymore..

Just picked up an MVP yesterday. I also have a VTR. They are both great mods. MVP is nice because you can charge as you smoke, can also charge your phone or laptop with it, and you have all the variable voltage/wattage. It's a pretty solid piece for the money. I started with egos but they are really cheap. If I were you I'd go with the MVP as a good starter, then when you are ready for something real good quality but pricier, go for the provari.

I'd also recommend the kayfun lite clone by ehpro, if the tanks you use start leaking/wick burning. A lot of the premade ones are junk. Get a Kayfun Lite Plus, learn how to build it right and your vape experience will be consistently awesome.

One more piece of advice... it's all in the juice. Find a juice you like, and you won't go back to cigs. I quit a pack a day habit completely in one month. I'll never ever go back.

Propylene glycol is considered generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and it is used as an humectant (E1520), solvent, and preservative in food and for tobacco products, as well as being one of the major ingredients of the "e-liquid" used in electronic cigarettes along with vegetable glycerin. Vaporizers used for delivery of pharmaceuticals or personal care products often include propylene glycol among the ingredients they are filled with.[4] Propylene glycol is used as a solvent in many pharmaceuticals, including oral, injectable and topical formulations, such as for diazepam and lorazepam which are insoluble in water.[7]
Informative, thank you. That had always thrown me off when I saw it on the ingredient list. I grabbed a e cig the other day because my cig smoking started to get out of control. Gonna do it, fuck cigs. I think it's a bit redic to think that these things could be more dangerous than a serious habit of major manufacturers tobacco products. Wy to get out in front of that trend krunch! I have seen those stores blow up lately.

A lot more people die from heart disease due to smoking than lung cancer because nicotine causes sclerosis of the arteries, please don't use patches or gum or anything that has nicotine in.

I think the weaning philosophy towards drug addictions generally is a badly flawed approach.

whenever i stop cigs i put the idea in my mind that i want to stop and eventually you will have a cig that is that rank that you say fuck this, if you can make it 3 days you can make it a month and if you can make it a month you are at least half way to freedom. I think i have kicked them on at least 3 occasions and it gets easier everytime, it's just having a clear willpower and knowing you have the power to do it. I always picked them back up during very stressful times and in all honesty they probably helped me through, it's a tool like any plant or drug, use it wrong and it will detract rather than benefit.

Much of the food we eat is equally addictive and not much better for you, really everything is an addiction and packing cigs in is just the same as throwing the macdonalds in the bin and saying No i will not eat that shit!

we get addicted to people as well, when you see someone you like your brain fires with serotonin.. it's all about letting your soul and mind take the control of your bodies desires and be the master of your destiny, which i guess is why heavily addicted people say they feel quite so helpless and why we call things a "crutch" that you feel you can't help but lean on.

some of the other non addictive entheogens are the best cure for neurochemical dependancies but people are pussies thesedays.

worth saying as well that the tobacco used in america is extra extra disgusting, for some reason significantly worse than the tobacco we get in europe that is exported from america.

Hello all,

Been cig free for 12 years now after 27 years of dedication to P.M.

For those that wish to quit...why would you substitute one method of addiction for another... specifically nicotine and e-cig.

Makes no sense.

Sure it does, think about it....

You are addicted to the nicotine, NOT the other 4000+ ingredients in the cigarette...

Nicotine is NOT a carcinogen, it does NOT kill you....

So when you quit cigs for e-cigs, you are getting rid of the ingredients that kill you. Yes you are still an addict to nicotine, but the name of the game is to ween yourself off...

Make sense now?

Because one of those addictions is known to cause cancer and will kill you.

I'm not saying e-cigs are healthy by any means, but they are way way way healthier for you than smoking cigarettes. Between the two, the choice is obvious. Now if you can quit smoking completely, I wholeheartedly applaud you. If you are unable to, do yourself a favor and grab a quality vape today.

Exactly. The nicotine puritans wind me up. Nicotine's health effects are comparable to caffeine. Unless you mainline espresso or drink a bottle of e-juice, It isn't a problem.

E-cigs are also proving to be a far superior "Nicotine replacement therapy" than the patches/gum/inhalers/pills/lozenges made by the pharmaceutical companies. The plans in the EU to ban the good e-cigs (refillable) and all but the lowest strength e-juice and regulate these thiings as medicines, and add the same sin taxes as ciggies, is directly as a result of lobbying by the pharma****icals.

Holy crap! how is that even legal? I quit cigs the day after
I saw a news report that referred to cigs as nicotine delivery
device, just like freebase coke. Not fur me.

I just also heard some major pharmacy chain(C*S) is ceasing
tobacco sales soon. Thoughts?

I bet pharmacy chain will still be selling patches/gum/lozenges and inhalers.
