Is this true about seeds? ( photo explains question)

I thought the photo was interesting, but I never really paid attention to my seeds when I planted them. I'd notice a odd shaped one every now and then, but not enough attention to label it and see if it hermied or was a male. What do you guys think, is the info in photo bs? Not sure if image came from a book or which book, found it on google

Im going to say no.

I just did an experiment I pulled 6 seeds from a group of 50, of 2 different strains,I selected the best looking seeds that had the best caldera formation.

Result was 4 females, 2 males.

I would think that if there was any truth to it it would be well known practice.

This is some thing that pops up every so often it seems on canna sites but that is about as far as it goes.

I remember seeing that pic before i even started growing.

Try it, just keep the seeds you deem as male. Pop them
later and you'll see a 50/50 rate of male/female...

Sigh.
