Thanks, she just keeps growing! She's still putting out successive leaf sets and more and more pistils, and continuing to thicken. Glad I have a clone ready to go, although it looks like it needs to be potted up ASAP as the clone's starting to yellow out...

As soon as I get the Ice Cream and Skunk out of there, I will transplant in another Satori clone and hopefully the Durga Mata I have germinating in straight coco now.

And the Durga Mata has sprouted and should be up tomorrow! Finally; this is the third bean. This one is in coco that was watered with dilute H2O2 solution, so lots of aeration and no nasties to worry about. Third time's a charm. She'll replace the Skunk; my Satori clone is aching to be transplanted as it is starting to yellow out. Maybe I'll transplant her into a larger cup today so she has some room to stretch out; she still has a couple of weeks before I put her into the tent in the Ice Cream bush's spot.

Everything looked noticeably better today. I think I need to feed calcium and mag more often as my water here is very soft, and the coco likes to hold onto calcium and magnesium. Watered with BTI and a three pinches of each of two dry organic ferts in 1.5 qts.

Some nice calyx swelling now and aroma and frostiness have picked up after that last feed; not long now.

I shouldn't have harvested the little Ice Cream as early as I did; it could have used 1-2 weeks more for maximum weight, potency and aroma. I won't make that mistake again with my larger girls! The early Ice Cream is still a good, tasty smoke though, with the potency to boot. It'll be good after a cure, but perhaps not as tasty as the later harvested stuff.

DM is up and doing very well; if it roots and grows well in coco I'll never germ in fine peat again!

Note to self...in future stay on top of the calcium carbonate and mag sulfate (epsom)--I grow in coco with soft water and I use LEDs. All those factors combined mean I need cal-mag regularly, especially in flowering, where I get the ol' brown spots on my leaves. I believe I've robbed myself of some yield in two cycles now because of mag deficiency. Doh!

Plenty of Ca in my worm castings, but I appear to need more Mg to offset the castings, and the Mg in the molasses is not enough (and molasses has too much K to use a lot of it in flowering in coco, which is constantly giving off potassium).

So are you thinking that youre getting some mag lockout due to high levels of potassium?

I think Im having a similar problem. Theres mag in my nutes and Im supplementing with cal/mag, but imo theres way too many potassium sources in the mix. I think adding co2 may have unmasked the problem. Im really not too sure...

Could be, or we could both have critters; their root-nibbling fuckery can look like Mg deficiency! I flushed recently so I should be good as far as K levels go--I think it's just a lack of Mg since coco tends to hold onto it tight and not let it go, like Obama with joints when he was smoking with his buddies. lol

After I harvest my Satori I'm going to have a free slot in the tent--what should I germ next? I'm adding a poll. :) The plant in that slot will get around three gallons of medium with which to grow and flourish.

So I just voted in your poll for Durga Mata but now see that you got one to pop. I would love to see more of the Paradise stuff grown. I see you have the classics in your collection. The Dutch Dragon and Nebula would be interesting. I grew out the Neb many years ago and it was pretty trippy weed. I've heard great things about the Dutch Dragon but think they changed it in '02. It can be a bit of a monster in height but has a great effect. I heard some place that it might be a Durban hybrid.. I have the Allkush but found it pretty dull unless they changed that as well..

Kal thanks, yeah, I have a DM going and if it's a good plant, it will be a mom. I wouldn't mind popping another one to compare though! The DD is indeed a Durban hybrid and I'd like to grow it; I can top the heck out of it and tie it down if necessary.

Not sure if they changed the Allkush, but I would love to run that too!

hehe, so little time and so many seeds eh Gelado?

I have the same problem. My own collection is so extended that if I stopped buying seed it would still take years to grow them all out.

Considering Paradise has little influence here at IC I think it would be cool to run some more of their stuff. Now you just have to choose which to pop. Good luck with that, not always an easy choice.

So any recent pics? How are things coming along?

Yup, and I need to get a fridge ASAP; everything is just in a glass jar with rice at the moment.

I want to grow the Pakistan Chitral Kush actually (that was my vote). Not sure who voted Western Winds, but I'd like to grow that too (and I've wanted to grow it for years)!

Need to take some pics; everything has beefed up considerably, but there is some Mg spotting on the Skunk and Ice Cream. The Satori is taking everything right in stride. Tough plant.

I have my Satori clone and Durga Mata seedling in pint cups now...they're in the tent and vegging away. I might as well get them established and ready for transplanting in when the Ice Cream and Skunk are done in a week or two (tops).

Took some pics tonight. :) Will upload when I get a chance. Been smoking a lot recently--not as much as you, WG, but more than usual for sure.

280W LED light incoming. That should make summer growing much easier and cheaper; no need for air conditioning, and my power usage may actually go down! Pretty crazy.

My oldest Ice Cream--she has a week or two to go yet. 10 weeks since flip, maybe 9 since first pistils. She has so many tops, I only discovered a few fat ones a couple of days ago! Should yield 2-3 oz of good smoke. I've had to tie her apart on both sides to support her branches.

My massive Satori girl...maybe 5-6" across in the middle, and like a 24" column of sativa bud! Starting to get funky (in a good way)!

Skunk...still a few weeks to go, maybe 3 weeks

A younger Ice Cream clone...maybe 3 weeks in? VERY green. Won't be feeding her anything extra (except for guano and cal carbonate / mag sulfate).

Homegrown Fantaseeds Afghani...unsexed and doing well after it s t r e t c h e d in the seedling stage. Looking pretty good now. Nice, large fans already.

Homegrown Fantaseeds is a name from my past. I bought a few offerings of theirs back in the mid 90's.. They've cut their catalogue right back and now only offer a few limited stock. I think it was a good move for them to concentrate solely on a few plants and make them good.

Is the skunk from Fantaseed stock to?

The Icecreams are looking juicy, also love the basic skunk1. It's a classic.. Be interesting to see how their Afghan turns out. Was it fem or standard?

HGF have actually introduced a few new strains recently actually!

The Skunk is a Seedsman and on its second run. I smoked some last night...always a great high. Sweet, sativa goodness. In a joint, it tastes just like the Skunk I smoked in Amsterdam. Tasty.

My Ice Cream is on its second run too, but I was already cloning it in the first run. It's piney and hashy with a little sweetness--great potency and absolutely frosty at harvest. Good stuff.

The Afghani is a regular, so I don't know what I have just yet...fingers crossed! If it's a male, I'll pollinate some lower branches on the other girls. Might as well. :) I (accidentally) made some HGF Afghani x Jamaican Pearl seeds outdoors in 2006. Should have added them to the list!

Added the following to my plants today:

Diatomaceous earth (for additional silica and critter removal), pelletized organic fruiting fetilizer (high P) to my Afghani and a younger Ice Cream clone (not pictured yesterday, but it just started flowering), humic acid pellets (to everything), zeolite (to everything), and rock dust (to everything). Total cost: $7, and I have enough left of each for several years of grows. I love my local nursery!

Took two ~7g lower buds from the Ice Cream today because they looked just right; the rest still need a little more time. Excellent calyx to leaf ratio. Trimming was a breeze. :) I may give them a closer haircut today.

Got my Point of No Return, Rishi Kush and PCK today, as well as some Bodhi Snow Queen. LED light is on the way--just in time too. Due to a mixup they cut me a sweet deal.

It's getting much warmer, so the light is going to arrive in the nick of time. My air conditioner isn't working either!

Spotted some seeds in my Ice Cream today--looks like the Skunk pollen seeded up a few calyxes. Hopefully not too many!

None of the plants are showing any amber trichs at all, so I may give the Ice Cream one more week, although a lot of pistils on the IC have turned in the last week or so.
