Wow. His brain was not ready for intense psychoactive experience that edibles can be. That's a shame.

Just as with any drug, you have to responsible using pot too. Educate one's self and act accordingly.

i reckon there was some underlying issue that exasperated the situation.

First marijuana death? Nope. More like the five billionth jumping off a bridge death.

Don't go blaming marijuana on that guy.

It was bound to happen sooner or later (according to a rabid press), and here we have the first reported marijuana fatality

http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_2...h-after-eating-marijuana?source=hot-topic-bar

well, shit happens...

In a recent murder case, authorities discovered that the perpetrator had eaten a poptart just twenty minutes before committing the murder. He was also found to have ingested large quantities of bottled water in the months leading up to the crime. An enraged public has demanded immediate action, and the state house has taken up legislation that would ban the sale of poptarts and bottled water.

Its really too bad that opponents of legalization use coercive tactics like implying causality that just does not stand up to logical analysis. I guess when there is no legitimate reason for certain social laws, those tactics are all that is available. Whats even worse is that the general public tends not to use logic very often anyway.

“Always that same LSD story, you've all seen it. 'Young man on acid, thought he could fly, jumped out of a building. What a tragedy.' What a dick! Fuck him, he’s an idiot. If he thought he could fly, why didn’t he take off on the ground first? Check it out. You don’t see ducks lined up to catch elevators to fly south—they fly from the ground, ya moron, quit ruining it for everybody. He’s a moron, he’s dead—good, we lost a moron, fuckin’ celebrate. Wow, I just felt the world get lighter. We lost a moron! I don’t mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am, so that’s the way it comes out. Professional help is being sought. How about a positive LSD story? Wouldn't that be news-worthy, just the once? To base your decision on information rather than scare tactics and superstition and lies? I think it would be news-worthy. 'Today, a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream and we're the imagination of ourselves' . . . 'Here's Tom with the weather.”

It wasn't an overdose, he jumped off something really high, pun intended.

Thats what my poptart murder post was trying to say, theres no way to prove that the weed "made" him do that. How can you possibly prove that he wasn't already planning on taking his life?

ha ha ha i love that bill hicks quote legend:)

I think the story is fake. Just something they made up to scare everyone away from legalization. n00bs have been eating pot edibles for decades while illegal and no one else jumped off a balcony because of it, now suddenly because it's legal it happened? I don't buy it. This is just like the story they used in Amsterdam to outlaw mushrooms.

Also, funny how this story is released a day after a poll is released that shows that the majority of Americans support legalization, and that legalization is inevitable.

The newspaper today (on the 4th) said he ate cookies. I wonder how many? I have to cut one cookie in half and eat it at night. I could never wake and bake with those things.

The title to the story should be "Munch and Crunch"....to soon?

My apologies to any his family or friends that might see this, but my point is this story is just as ridiculous as if reported from that angle. Absolute bullshit laying any of this tragedy on using cannabis at all.

The entire article is misleading...

While consuming cannabis, via edibles, is the only way to OD from it, the guy clearly died because he landed on the ground after falling 40 feet or so.

I feel bad for his family.
