Hey there people great site you have here I have been growing a number of years now various ways hydro soil but I have been recently been drawn to the idea of using coco however I do understand a little about coco I am hoping to use smart pots / fabric pots/root pouch pots
I know the roots in the above mentioned pots do not circulate around the bottom and edges of these pots but do have lots of root mass below the surface of fabric and below the soil surface and I do understand that the root system while using hard pots gets amazingly massive root mass when using coco in hard pots so basically I'm curious to know if anyone out there has used coco in hard pots and also in fabric and which were the best results any info appreciated

Forget that. I've used them all.
Use Hempy buckets for highest yield and foolproof simplicity. You only need to read two threads here to get started in coco for the beginner:
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=147954
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=191645
Also, start with Canna bagged coco. Just pour and use straight out of the bag. If you can't get Canna, read this thread:
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=175245
That's ALL you need to succeed.
Completely foolproof.

Hempy buckets are simple, foolproof, passive hydro systems, which provide huge yields. Any kind of container can be used, but i prefer 2 or 3 gallon buckets, waterd/fed daily.
Read the links I provided.
Everything you need to know is there.

Has anyone run hempys with drip feed rather than by hand. Seems like it might defeat the object but what do I know...

I run airpots with a 2" cut off bucket bottom cable tied to the airpot for my hempy airpots.
I use fytocell medium.
just harvested moby dick which was vegged for 6 weeks from seed and then flowered I got 9 oz off one plant.

I have done a side by side using fytocell in hempy airpots vs a normal hempy bucket and the hempy airpots yielded a lot more than a normal hempy.

I always used the canna range when using coco.

A, B, Rhizotonic, cannazym and pk13/14 for wk 5 of flower.

Pays to get a ec and ph pen and a bottle of ph down as well.

Yeah got the idea about the buckets great way do you use coco feed or hydro feed mate
Thanks for your help

K.I.S.S. thread.
Maxibloom.
No need for expensive "coco nutes".
Rhizotonic is a good root stimulator, but expensive.
You can get generic equivalents @ MBFerts, but that's in the states. Don't know if they ship overseas or what cost would be, but they rock.

airpots are great they go through wet/dry cycles a lot faster than normal pots.

Airpots are not Hempy buckets. I tossed my airpots after discovering Hempys. The way i do hempys, there is no dry cycle. Watered daily to bring fresh oxygen to the roots, providing explosive growth. You can't over water coco. If you want to talk side by sides, show the pictures.

Hempy buckets made using a 12 liter bucket cuttings are in 3 inch cubes waiting for roots to come out of the bottom
Canna coco pro plus purchased as well as clay pebbles for bottom
Bluelab ph pen bluelab cf truncheon also got
Am going to try plant magic coco feeds as they are developed for hard water in the uk
Will keep you updated how I get on with this all new to me system and grow medium

Easy peasy. Don't forget the Rhizotonic, or equivalent. Hempy buckets are foolproof. Water/feed daily to runoff for best results. Don't know anything about "plant magic", but switched from coco nutes (expensive) to KISS method (Maxibloom) with great results. However, any good nutrient line will work with coco. Nothing mysterious about it. Most important thing is to start with premium coco, like Canna. After trying this method, you will not go back to anything you used before, as growth is explosive, it's simple, and foolproof.

Thanks for the input about everything i didn't fancy trying the kiss method first time around as trying new medium and pot but will keep you updated I have rhizotonic and root stimulants also some root infinity powder for when I put into coco hopefully with this lot combined should get a good root system going

I should just hand water to start until the roots hit the res then start to water to run off after this I'm sure that's wot was said before

The reason for plant magic nutrients is I have had good results in the past and not too expensive here and developed for our hard water will keep thing updated here anyway and thanks for your help
