Transplanted the Larry Smurf and Jack O Nesia seedlings to 1 gal bags recently...

Also put the rest of my clones pretty much anywhere I could stuff them, the SOG cab is defintely full at this point, even got 6 of 'em on the floor of my Cheesy Rider cab

I really like this setup looks excellent Can i ask how big your vertical growroom is and how far should the bulb be from plants

What's up, man?

My whole cab is (roughly) 10 L x 4 D x 6.5 H, and is divided into 3 growing areas - dual 4x4's for flowering, and a 2x4 for vegging.

The bulb distance from the plant can vary quite a bit. My bigger plants get as close as 4-5" sometimes, but I do try to keep them back as far as possible. The further away they are, the bigger circumference you have for a canopy... more potential yields.

But I'm still learning as I go, and my yields are nowhere near satisfactory yet. The guys over in the vert forum are real friendly and more than glad to try to convert a horizontal grower. They'd be glad to help ya out in any way.

Here's an older pic of my whole cab so you can get the idea. Above the veg cab is a small "utility" chamber that houses the fans/filters as well as my ballasts and flip box.

And the next round of plants. Larry Smurf are the back row and one of the third row plants (has a plain tag in it) and the rest are Karma's Jack O Nesia.

I'm hoping with the right cut, monocropped, I'll be able to hit 1lb around a 400w.

I average about 12oz harvests, although my last harvest was only 6oz due to some experimentation, I ran SOG size plants, but only single level, was trying to determine how big to flip the clones.

Need to find a pheno that thrives when grown as a budsicle. I've been growing a lot of branchy strains (Karma's biker line) and haven't found anything that suits my needs, yet.

I'm hoping so!

I've got some of E$ko's Lady Cane f3's, which are supposed to produce some monster buds. I'll be germinating those next. I feel like I'll hit a lb once I run a cut of this monocropped, especially as spring comes around and my environment is more manageable.

Also, despite my disappointment with germ rates on the plants in veg currently (Karma's Jack O Nesia & Trichome Jungle's Larry Smurf) I popped 12 Karma and 15 Trich.Jungle beans.... 8 Karma popped... but only 5/15 Trichome Jungle beans popped, one never made it past seedling stage..... I've got a pretty high ratio of fems in here to make up for it....2 Karma males, and I think all 4 of my Larry Smurf plants are female.... the plants in front are the cheesy rider/blue amnesia/goji/shiva99 clones that are awaiting mother selection. I only just hit 'em with a little N, they'll be getting nursed back to health shortly.

I've also begun a JBonez type of defoliation. I usually do a little defoliation in veg, but never this heavily. ALL but the bottom most fan leaves are removed, and will continue to be removed until a few days before flower. Defoliation will then resume again, after the stretch.

I'll be flowering out my Karma's Anonymous keepers (I have cuts of each) as soon as the Shiva99's in the SOG cab are done. They should produce some nice colas. They'll be getting transplanted and nursed back to health before then.

Been super busy guys, but a quick update. No pics though, sorry.

Harvested the plants - 10.5 oz total. Little bit low, but I'll take it.

Jack O Nesia (x6) and Larry Smurf (x4) in flowering, germinated Lady Cane F3(x10?) and Blue Chem. (x2)

Still a bunch of mixed strains in the SOG cab. Gotta get pics of that ASAP, as its due for harvest before too long.

I'm ordering another ballast/flipbox set-up to run stacked bulbs. Gonna put in some Super Agro 430w bulbs in all around. Will be adding a 3rd shelf once I got stacked bulbs up and running. Gotta get a new AC too as mine too a shit on me.

Well, here's a low quality image of the SOG side, a lot more recent than anything I've posted.

It finally happened! Been waiting for this since I first built my cab. The whole design was based around dual 400w bulbs and I finally dropped the cash and got what I wanted.

New 430w bulbs all around. I'll be cutting a 2nd intake whole for each cab today.

Here's the new bulbs igniting for the first time:

Popped some new seeds as well - E$ko's Lady Cane f3, and a couple of Blue Chem freebies (also E$ko gear.) One of the lady cane seeds produced a double plant. Not sure if they have two separate tap roots or what, but I'll be culling the weakest of the two.

Also, would like to introduce our newest family member. We call her Sam - wanted something short and easy for my 1-yr old son to say when he starts talking. She's his companion. I'll be getting a male from the same breeder myself. Very good bloodline, goes by German standards rather than American so she does have her tail. I was skeptical about a rott with a tail, but to be honest its really grown on me, and now I can't imagine cutting it off.

that is one gorgeous pup! Although, that tail is going to be a knee breaker in the future... ;)

Well, ran into some heat issues - not entirely unexpected, given I couldn't even run a single 600w bulb. Although, I did figure the extra 6" intake all around would keep my temps manageable.... 95-100f.

So what'd I do? Went back to the drawing board. My initial plan was to have a damper installed to shut off airflow to one side, re-directing the full airflow to the cab that was lights-on. I didn't consider the drawbacks of virtually zero airflow at the time.

So my cabs are 4 x 4 x 6.5 = 104 cu ft. Two cabs so a total of 208 cu ft. Needs 416 cfm for 2x per minute.

OR

My entire cab, including veg is 260 cu ft. Needs 520 cfm for 2x per minute air exchange.

Okay, so here's the problem. I'm running 572 cfm right now, and only ventilating my flower cabs. How much does a filter reduce the CFM by? I've read everything from 20% - 50%, with no solid answer.

Either way, I think my solution is to order another 6" fan/filter. This allows me to set up dedicated 6" fans for each cab. Even if the cfm gets cut in half (400 to 200), I'm right around 2x per minute.

Wasn't considering just getting a single 8", but I think an additional 6" is the better solution for future upgrades as well.

Gonna order the 6" combo now, will post back in a few days and see how much it helps. My veg cab will appreciate a 4" vortex vs the 6" booster fan it has now, too.
