I am looking at some different organic alcohols for winterizing and was curious if it made any difference when it came to gape, cane, corn, or wheat organic alcohol. Thanks in advance for all your input

There are differences at very low levels, but not enough to make any difference winterizing. Ethanol is ethanol and an azeotropic 95.6% blend from either grain or fruit is 95.5% ethanol both ways, with the balance mostly water.

Fruit pectin produces methanol, so ethanol derived from fruit probably has more methanol in the low ppm/ppb ranges.

I have found the cane alcohol hard to purge... it makes everything taste like a margarita! I asked the company, and they said the wheat and corn leave the least residual flavor.
