Lol no bro... the april 2014 issue covers the 2013 cup.
The 2014 cup was 2 months prior in sb.
I looked at it an was like 2013 cup? Who cares? I just WENT to the 2014 cup thats what I wanted to read about.
So 14 months??? OVER a year later they cover it? I am still in disbelief.
Its their event even!
EPIC FAIL !!!!

2013 cup results as cover news just prior to the 2014 cup?

smells like a desperate marketing strategy to me.......

So I wrote HT an email. I was a bit frustrated this is how the managing editor handled it.
Read feom bottom up... sorry.

You prove my point beuatifully.
Amsterdam huh...lmao!!!!
Again... who the fuck cares.
COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT!!!!
What do I care about an event half way around the world?
Why bother putting on on the us events?
** Its laughable.
15 years ago it made sense it COULDNT be anywhere else, that was 15 years ago.
Its like you guys reporting palm springs california as the hottest spring break spot when everyone who know anything has been goin to mexico for 10 years. RELEVANCY matters or else it should.
Perhaps THIS is why to an up to date US reader you seem "behind"
I do have a working knowledge of publishing actually.* Those are YOUR lead times editing and publishing lead times vary greatly smart ass...
* These days a 4 month lead might as well be forever we expect our news an informarion fast.
* 4 months to develop a feature story abosultely 4 months to edit an arrange coverage of your own event is pathetic.
** My math is just fine.... I was assuming you might cover an event you put on that might actually be relevant to me as a reader in the US like the la cup. Now I see why they say the cannabis cup by you guys is all about money and has nothing to do with the real community. Its a fund raiser for you... and you have em city to city. You have ruined the legitimacy of your own event by reproducing it over an over to make a buck and in the process* undermine your own credibility.
** So I tell you I dont understand why you report late irrelevant information and rather than challenge my idea that its irrelevant or outdated your response is to tell me im an uneducated stoner!?! Seems like us "stoners" pay your bills guy would you have a job doing what you do without us? How hard is it to understand you ask? Not real tough did I miss something? Had you explained it several times for me previously that you thought I couldnt comprehend?
* Excellent response i will make sure to copy and past our conversation on every board I visit.
* You had an opportunity here to educate a reader which is what you guys are supposed to be about right?
Instead you insult me by insinuating im uneducated and talk to me like im a child.
However you only make yourself look childish by doing so.*

That's the earliest we could possibly report on our own event. We don't just slap some shit together, pull the results out of our ass, and go down to the local Kinkos and hit print.

So I WAS mistaken about which cup they were covering but he sure was a dick explaining it... and I believe my original point still stands
Covering a event in Amsterdam 4 months later when we have our own us event is just super lame. And irrelevant to US readers you would think they woukd make the feature relevant to the demography

Only thing I wanted to prove was they acted like dicks and they are behind and not covering events that are relevant to their local readers.
Ht is published in the US not holland.
Wouldn't it make sense to cover US events as the feature an holland as the side note?

I guess if I failed then oh well...
Seems like common sense to me.

Still that was a dick response. You don't talk to people like that who are interested enough to email you about your product that you are selling .

Basic business 101 HT!

I shall remember this next time I see a HT for sale and take a pass. And I'll say gee maybe I'm not educated enough to buy this mag hmmm my friends are not to bright either :D

HT needs a lesson in class .

True that. I guess I should rephrase my frusteration made me mis speak.
Its not that its not relevant. I do wanna hear about it.
But ht is an American magazine published in NY.
When we COULDNT have our own cups it made all the sense in the world.
Now that we do why would you feature that cup?
Cover it absolutely! But like a month or two after the event when everyone is dying to hear about it. Then if you wanna throw em in different places why not do the same for them?
It used to be a best in the world type of thing if you wanted to compete tou got there period, now there are many cups.
How do you have a best in the world every quarter?
At most its best by region now. Im just sayin be fair to each region.
Wouldnt you think the la or sf or denver cup winners would like to be featured in the same way as the amsterdam cup is?
Wouldnt local people who had been have a much bigger attachment to that mag?
I got to go to la so it would have been like a collectors thing for me memorabilia as it were.
An fair is fair... I could have come across nicer out the gate too but like I said I was a little pissed. An ANGRY customer
I wasnt even necessarily 100% right but I shouldn't have gotten that response from any kind of professional.

Theres also a saying theres no such thing as a stupid question. ;)
