Outdoor seed questions- Early flowering strains

Hey there,
I was recently gifted some outdoor seeds for this year that i had some questions about.
They are sensi seeds Early Girl, Early Pearl, outdoor mix, and Gwn Fast manitoba. From what ive read there is some autoflower varieties in the outdoor mix.
I was curious about the other varieties ability to be cloned. I feel like Ive read somewhere before that these variety indeed have some auto in them but i didn't see it anywhere in the breeders info.
Anyone with experience with early strains or these ones in particular please chime in as I dont want to start them too early if they cant be cloned. thanks for any input.

Get some C99 (early very potent & resistant), Durban Poison Flowers early, Early Girl is okay medium potency.

Purple Maroc is supposed to be quick.. Haven't tried it but doing it this year. Also running blueberry headband. have heard good things about early biddy

I ran Trainwreck last year and it was a big hardy plant that was relatively quick, also easy to grow.. was stolen before i could harvest but i saw it 2 weeks earlier and was looking almost ready

Hello Canadian Cream.

From what I hear, many of the "earlier" strains developed here in Canada had either Early Girl, Early Pearl or both in them. Fast Manitoba for instance, GWN does say it's just an early pheno of Early Girl reworked in Manitoba. I have never grown them myself but they have certainly been around. Seems like there is a lot of early stuff coming from Manitoba, there seems to be a lot of people who know what they are doing in the way of developing early strains over there.

So, depending where you are at in Canada, say 52N or lower, what you have is pretty much safe bets. Not the most potent I hear but with a good cure they seem to be quite acceptable. Now, Sensi does not seem to be what they used to be. One of the reason is that these strains are not as popular nowadays and the seed stocks may be old.

As for starting early versus later it seems to me that the later the better. For early strains I am going to veg two weeks this year, three max. No more. Reason being that starting earlier will produce larger plants, yes, but the question remains: will you be able to finish them? Long story short the longer you veg the more time the plant has to produce an anti flowering hormone. You pay a price later in the season. Now, if you are in Southern Ontario that may not be that much of a problem. See what I mean?

As for the "Outdoor mix" I am not sure. Do you mean the Sensi one? I don't grow Sensi plants for the reason stated above.

As for autos that's another can of worms! Sounds to me you have already been given the right info about that. But if you had, say the Iranian auto, I hear you could probably clone it by keeping it under 24 hours of light. Thats because it's an "early flowering characteristic" plant. Not a ruderalis based genetic. Big difference. Just to say that when you talk about autos, you are liable to run into both types. It's not a bad idea to know the difference. Add to that the fact that some so called autos are actually sativa based and you really have a can of worms!

One more thing: I have to say that I have done a huge amount of research this year alone and if you are looking for good Nordic strains you may want to take a look at hybrids from Hell (from Denmark) or Smoke-a-Lot from Canada. There are more too.

Good luck.

in southwestern ontario whenever id put my plants outside like say begnning of may they'd always flower then revert to veg and would be stunted slightly.. so now i have to plant like beginning of june, still i grew about 6ft plants after then flowered then reverted, but i think it must be that it wasnt light long enough..

i think veging indoors then putting out at beginnng of june is the best option

even southern ontario tho the season ends about october to mid october..this past summer we were extremely lucky to have the warm weather to grow into like december i think... I think it may have even been possible to pull of a haze strain this past year.. but the year before it was too cold to grow into mid october.

Good pointChronicFUNK that's one of the reasons I don't even bother to put plants out until June 1st- first week of June. One of the other reasons is that I live at 53N and early springs can be tricky but that's another story as I never stop whining about that! Still, an October finish can give you, say, a Sensi Star, lucky you are!

Thanks for the replies, I Appreciate the strain suggestions but that wasn't what i was asking.

Niceeven, seems your the only one who understood my question.
I figured they might not be as potent and in the back of my mind i feel like ive read and heard various sources say earlier ones are not as good.
Im not concerned as much about potency as i am about the taste and since i'm in the maritimes i worry about mold/budrot.
These were freebies so im not too concerned. I was just thinking about getting them going now and picking my favourite pheno. no sense wasting time and energy on stuff that i wont like. Clone the keepers if there are any lol. Send em out into the adulthood in the great outdoors. Thanks guys/gals

Way to go cannadiancream! That potency stuff is over rated anyhow. Better grow something you like than potent stuff that taste like sh... anyhow.

in the Maritimes? I think you are in business my friend! Please keep us posted, I'll do the same with my strains.

It's been a pleasure to meet a fellow Canadian grower!

So long brother.

You should head over to UDG they are bunch of canuck breeders they have a shitload of combined experience and knowledge. They have breeders that specialize in early and auto strains. If nothing else happens you will learn a lot about growing in your environment.

I have grown a few UDG strains GG2, GG3, BBXGG and AK99XFL to name a few off the top of my head and i can say for sure the potency is not low.

Also the thread starter is from Canada and I cant really see the logic of not talking to guys who grow in the same environment isn't that why outdoor growers come to this forum and not the minicab forum. In my opinion its always better to get your info from the locals.

If you grow in the great white north or any northern environment you owe it to yourself to check out UDG. You notice I didn't say only UDG. You should always be open minded knowledge is power, ignorance and ego are weakness. I have fallen victim to ego i.e ignorance many times.

as soon as breederbrad heres or sees something which he thinks is disrespectful....claws come out.....you are nobody special dude, get over yourself!

And gg aint very potent on its own....period.
blubonic x gg is bulletproof, but lacking in potency....i personally have never grown anything great from brads strains....

you want something bulletproof, tasty, potent and big yielders?schnazzleberry#2,maple leaf indica, auto amnesia, arnes cheese, exodus kush, these all kick ass,and can handle terrible weather
Highrise has some good gear........anything crossed to grape hash plant......
and yes i know you bred it bb,even a blind squirrel can find a nut on occasion....
