I hope I wasn't supposed to sprout them your way MM?

I can pop beans every way in the book... but this has shown the most promising results that I'm looking for - High Germination rate - Fast stress free growth.

Fresh coco/ perilite- ph'd and washed. I then heat it up on the heat matt so that the seedlings go from room temperature water to nice warm and cozzy coco.

I don't touch anything with my fingers any more - I use the name tags to scoot the beans outa the shot glass after I pour the water out and I used the tags to keep track of my spot/container.

Straight ot medium sowing takes longer but merits more success by allowing nature to do its thing. Just requires more patience/time.

Plugs are just as good but they might have problems with being dirty - I'll have to see - but in the past plugs have provided great results just recently their quality has decreased and its risky to tell if they are safe to use and I didn't boil any so I didn't go that route for these.

Paper towel method is the worst for me. I don't have a good heat source for consistence and I've lost packs of beans to forgetting about them and it drying out. Plus dust and particles of paper get stuck to the root hairs of the sprouts and they are very delicate and more finicky to work with and much more stress prone.

I find straight into water for 24 hours and then sown into the medium with heat mat and dome provide results with in 24 horus giving you an indication of where the beans are headed.

I plant mines 1/8th deep - so I always can see development right away.

I think I have a few stunted or duds. More info w/ photos later.

Lets do this!

Lets do this!

I foresee 10 solid candidates!

I already moved 6 under the floro as they have cotyledons turning green and this will invoke the tropisms in them

I used the labels to mark which beans could be potential duds or stunted.

So far everything is going great

hey lyryc

wicked man. looks like they all should come thru

back to my previous post. i do not use heat matts because i notice more fems with cooler germ and sprouting. i do believe in higher humidity though helps for fems too :)

all is good

I take them outa the incubator once I see the green - so they hit normal temps sooner - but you say the temperature effects them during germination for female vs male as well?

for instance the water - and coco should be say on the room temp side of things? or just overall they should be in a cooler environment and medium?

if you could elaborate more about that id appreciate it - love learning about cannabis

I also agree the humidity for me is 90% the reason I do what I do. I always check it and add water or mist :)

i do have a thread in here about how to get more fems, based on my experience.

i just notice, cooler, wetter and damper conditions with less nitrogen can favor fems. higher temps, dryer air and soil can def favor males

Update

Update

Yo MM - Saw that thread - Interesting information!

So I probably fucked up half the beans some how - or its potentially them - I blame me... idk what happen w/ these but I got 90% germ rate on the other packs I popped at the same time.

I think I only have a good 6 candidates for the test.

5 good ones and 1 that had the seed casing stuck on the cotelydons that I helped out this morning.

Theres 4 others that are not so hawt

Can't wait to start feeding

i'll be back in a few more days. Been feeding them 1ml per L veg food - sensi grow. They also got a gnat control drench(I saw just 1 the other day randomly) and soon after 2 nodes I will give them SNS 209 to keep them healthy - Along with that will come an up pot and roots excell and bennies. I'll most likely put these into 6 or 5 inch square pots but I've had my eye ball on some cheap root pouches thanks to a friend
