Glad i stumbled across this thread. If there's a place i can rant about this thing ive been confused about for a while its right here... But first, lemme lay a few on ya:

  • Previously mentioned was Deathsquad. Many many things. Most recently i've been obsessed with Kill Tony. It's an open mic show, the (mostly uber-noob) comedians are randomly selected, given a minute to perform, and then offered feedback. I'm a comedy nut so this one really f'n rocks to me. IIRC, episodes 5, 19, and 22 have been my favorites so far. I would go on, but... just get really baked and put on one of those. (#19 has marc maron and doug benson as cohosts) There's loads of other shit under the deathsquad umbrella like Joe Rogan Experience and Skeptic Tank too, all right there for the watching. (no wait shit he's on his own now... whatever, Skeptic Tank is good too)
  • Doug Loves Movies and Getting Doug With High. Mr Benson himself. there's a Best of Doug Loves Movies playlist on youtube for the curious. Getting Doug With High (quite new) is a weekly youtube thing, i'll call it a video podcast tho i guess. It's kinda meh so far, but the ep with Greg Proops is a must-watch if you give a shit about pot and/or comedy, imo. Mr Proops has a podcast of his own, Smartest Man in the World. It's sortof a stream-of-consciousness social commentary intermingled with holier-than-thou comedy and kittens mctavish whatnot. Hard to summarize
  • Uhh Yeah Dude. "America through the eyes of two American-Americans" - I suck at words, so i'll just paste that off their site heh. This is at the top of my lay back and chill podcasts. The only thing i dont like about it is that it's "only" weekly.

(about comedy podcasts in particular here)
I'd list more but those are the most worthy. Anyhow, I thought it might have just been an anomaly that none of my friends that appreciate weed, seem to give a shit about comedy. Given its been 5 months since anyone was in here... It seems like its not an anomaly. Some have shown a passive interest in things like Getting Doug With High, but muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch more shits are given about stuff along the lines of MarijuanaMan and similar. MarijuanaMan but no DeathSquad ? One's a stoner talking about pot stuff, and thats well and good... But if that stoner is a comedian, and his pot-talking is interlaced with humor... and there are a shit ton of them not just one.... that's somehow not as good. GAH.
I just dont get it. Is it language/offensiveness ? Is it a patience thing ? Some would find Kill Tony boring i suppose, if they're just straight up not interested in comedy as an art or willing to wait a few minutes to crack up. (i will say that the one thing i do not like about the show is the host... the show itself makes up for that tho.) Is it an audio vs visual thing ? That argument is only valid for audio-only podcasts to which i still just dont get why comedy is somehow inferior to music. That & I understand we're not all gonna enjoy the same comedy, but... shit-tons of free comedy podcasts out there... I guess what im saying is, I love laughing my ass off while high, and prefer legit comedy over gifs etc. Yes, even if it's just their voices.
[/rant]

Kill Tony is absurd. If you like absurd shit, google Dirty Crabber Share My Banana. Picture that man, the hairy one, in an Iron Patriot costume. With a wizard costume beard. Performing that song. And others. Sure, it's an open mic show. But... it's so much more than that, too.

PLEASE, SOMEBODY, WONT YOU LAUGH WITH ME!!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?

My wife turned me on to this one on howstuffworks.com called "Stuff You Missed In History Class." It might sound corny, or too educational or something (lol), but seriously, this podcast is well produced and the content is extremely interesting! I find myself actually paying attention to the entire podcast when my wife listens to it while cleaning the kitchen. If you are the type to watch documentaries and the science channel and stuff, you will probably like it.

I've always been a huge fan of This American Life, which I highly recommend, even to people outside of the U.S. (it's not really all that U.S. centric). Everytime I hop in my car for a long commute, I pull up a TAL episode to keep me company.

The most recent episode from last weekend was about subject matter that pertains to why we are all here at icmag, so I thought I would link that one here:
