How Many Times Can You Re-Veg The Same Plant...???

I grow using a hybrid aeroponic hydroponic system. Currently, I have three plants that all share the same rez, and all three have been re-vegged three times now..... :jawdrop: ......that's right, you read correctly, this will be the third time these plant's will flower for me...... :woohoo: :yoinks:

I have found that after every re-veg & flowering cycle, my plant's have much more dense growth with way more budding site's. Harvested bud's are more flavorful, and are more potent too.... :joint:

My question is this.....How many times can you re-veg a plant before you have to kill it once and for all.....???? :chin:

I honestly believe that if you keep her healthy and clean she can go an unlimited number of runs... just my opinion.

Since I have limited space, I usually re-veg my plant's for 5-6 weeks. Initially, for the first 2-3 weeks, I will use 24/0 light, and then gradually ease them back to 18/6. After each re-veg & flower cycle, my yield's will usually double from each plant. But again, due to lack of space and to prevent things from getting out of control, I'm forced to practice a lot of cruel to be kind pruning...... :dueling:

I have a Sour Bubble revegged 2 times and going for 3 (the record)...

RMS hit it on the mark... revegging is a good 6 week process... misting seems to help the Sour Bubble along.

I gotta agree with zep... if you can keep the roots healthy, there shouldn't be any limit.

Squid, I would think that an aeroponic system would be ideal for this because of the access you have to the roots.

I have heard of people revegging over and over for years, although I couldn't say for sure that it's true.

I've revegged/reflowered twice a number of times with no real problems, so I know that twice ain't hard.

Wow! I never would have thought one could reveg so many times without the dreaded banana becoming a prominent feature! I revegged one time and was disappointed with the recovery time so haven't done it again. I wonder if you could take flowered DWC plants and toss 'em in a bucket-0-dirt and put them outside to reveg?

I am also surprised. :yoinks: I've never heard of anyone revegging a hydro plant so many times, great show RMS! I've seen pics and remember what you told me about how healthy you keep your roots, no wonder this plant is so happy for so long! :woohoo: How many times are you going to keep trying? It would be really interesting to know just how long she could go. Plus you say she is more potent and flavorful each cycle..? Who'd a thunk it?

Hi rocky M.S

The thread started in 2005. 9 Years later can you tell me/us how many times you achieved to re veg your beauty girl?

This thread is so old, I almost don't remember it. I think I re-vegged her one more time, but at that point I had already started to lose interest in her and I let her die off.

The only re-veg I've attempted since then is to re-veg cuttings that I've taken from plants that have already started to bloom. This usually takes the cuttings longer to root, and much longer to stop blooming, and go back into vegetative mode. As a genral rule of thumb, for every week into bloom, it will usually take 2-3 weeks of straight veg (24 hour light) to bring a cutting back into veg mode.

Here is a pic of a cutting of 4SD that I managed to get to root. If I'm not mistaken, it took this particular cutting over two month's, sitting in a aero cloner, to bust out some root's. Yes, I'm a stubborn old bastard.

Here is what the cutting looked like at the start:

2 month's later, she reluctantly popped a root:

Ten days later, more roots.....

What she looked like after being transplanted back into action :

A re-vegged cutting will have far more nodes that will produce way more buds than a regular cutting. Every pistil (bract) that re-vegges becomes a new node, so a small bud when re-vegged can produce many node's. The growth at first will appear freakish and possibly lacking good color, but it's normal. Daily misting promotes more bract's to wake up and veg. Once the cutting recovers from the stress and shock, it should bounce back with a vengance.

Always Sour,

RMS
