Pot Lows' Stealth Cab - CFL&COB

Welcome to Pot Lows' Stealth Cab

I havent had the opportunity to grow indoor for some time now since my space is limited, so i decided to build myself a small stealth cab so i have something to do while i wait for the weather to get better for a gourilla grow.

Soooo... The cab is 50x50x40cm (height,length,width)

So far i have 4x 24w 6500k CFL bulbs. Startet out with 5, but the temp got a bit over 30C, so i took one out again.

Tomorrow im going to the post office to pick up a package with 3 30w COB 6500k leds. Cant wait to see how the plants react to it! I only have one 30w led driver atm, so my plan is to just place one of the leds in the cab somewhere as well. And hopefully in the end only use COB or CREE leds.

Right now Susan is about 8 days old. Looking mighty fine if i might say so! She's a Dragon Haze F1(hopefully she), and then i also have a NL#5(but im just starting that one up for a friend). My plan is to do a SCROG on Susan. Never done that before, so its going to be a wonderful journey!

PH of the tap water also look fine, i quess its somewhere between 6.5-7-5.

Just picked up my package with some COB leds!

Holy s*** their big! wow..... i did not see that coming.. But their still perfect for my use. Cant wait to get them rigged up.

Anyone try these COB leds?? or Cree leds??

These COB's are 30w, 6500k.

At the mo, im using ground up coffe on a plate, sitting on top of the cab. Cant remember who said it, but someone here on ic also did that, works for me also. Doesnt remove smell, but surely hides the "earthy plant" smell pretty good and neutralises it a bit i guess.

But when the smell will be a bit more powerful i will buy some ONA-GEL and use that for the flower period. I dont have the space or money for a carbon filter atm, so i decided to buy a pack of ONA-gel and test that out instead.

Ey everyone,

just a small update on the COB leds.

Tried hooking one up to my 30w led ballast. Nothing happend. Cant get it to work tried diffent ways to connect the wires, also didnt work...

Anyone got any ideas, it would be much appriciated!

I don't know much about LEds but it looks like it's good to go. I was looking into one of these to light a bonsai mother/clone cab. Hope you can get it going! Heard they get hot as fuck...best of luck!

A small update from today

Day 10


Still no progress on the cob leds....

Temps at day is about 28-30C
At night, about 20-25C

Going to feed her for the first time at thursday, with some General hydroponic micro and grow fert..

OH BTW,
If anyone wanted to know, the Dragon Haze F1 is a homemade cross between (Citral Skunk X G13 X Hashplant). I think it was a norweigan guy who made it, back in 09'.

That's an awesome little box! And susans looking good. Kinda sux you can't get the leds working. hope you can get it figured out. Are those bagseeds? And are you vegging now or 12/12 from seed? Just curious.

Be aware that you need a heatsink for your LED chips or else they will soon die.

Dillydally, thank you very much sir! Actually like it alot myself too, really outdone myself. lol
Nope the seeds are from a scandinavian seedbank. They are made by a norweigan fella i think back in 2009.
And im running 18/6 atm, for veg, and im gonna do veg untill the plant will fill the entire scrog screen im gonna build for the cab. And when the screens full, maybe + 1 inch, then ill switch to 12/12, and change the CFL's to 2700k bulbs instead of thr 6500k ones!

Yo tebos, thanks for the heads up. Ill have to buy a couple of heatsinks then, no prob. Just have to get the damn things working first... Gonna have to look at it again in the next coming days..

Thinking of buying a UFO 90w LED, i think it would be perfect for this little cab. Spike that up with a couple of cob leds, i think it will be amazing

Oh by the way, ive been reading around but couldnt find anything on it,,,

-how long can water with liquid fert in it stay good?? and does it have to be stored a cold place? bcus im thinking og making 5-10L fert water at a time, but its going to last a while for 1 plant... Anybody know?

Sounds like you gotta plan. Good luck with the scrog and those beans sound very interesting can't wait to see her in action! And no probs keeping a mixture around gh actually says if your bottle of nutes gets crystallized to mix with the same amount of water and double your dose so you'll be fine. Just mix your micro first!! Stay green kkmmbb!

A small update for you today. Startet using GH micro, gro, bloom fert series last tursday, and it looks like Susan is thriving in the small cab.

Hi, kkmmbb. I am using a 100w cree cob. I have it on a 7" X 7" heatsink and can run it on the low voltage without a fan.

Be sure to get a nice thermal adhesive if you stick it on that way.

3dDream- Thanks for the input man, ill be sure to do it right. Im going to buy a new 30w driver and test the leds with it, since it doesnt work at the mo. It must be the driver thats the main problem. It would be weird if all 3 new leds were broke...

I think i might top it in a week or so, at the 3 or 4th node. But im not sure yet, might just let it fill the scrog screen without topping but with lst. we'll see....
