Lighting choice for tents

I was wondering what wattage light goes best for a 5x5x6 tent? I'm thinking a 1k or 2 600s stacked on top of each other?

Will the 2 600s be too hot inside the tent? Some people are saying a 1000 watt is already too hot in that tent.

I run two 1k's in a 5X7X7 room. If you have the ventilation it would work. You need to change the air at least twice a minute to keep it cool. Only you will know if you can keep it cool.

What cfm is your exhaust rated at and do you know the temperature of the air going into the room? Do you use a cool tube?

I have a 8 inch fan on the exhaust pipe pulling air out of the room into a 8 inch carbon scrubber. This pipe and fan sits as close to the cieling above my lights as I can get it. I have a 8 inch pipe with no fan feeding the room down by the floor. I have a small fan on low below the double stacked lights blowing gently up to the lights. Room temp hovers around 78-80 lights on. I pull air from a lung room with the temp at about 72-73.

I don't use a cool tube. My plants will get to with in 6-8 inch of the light before they scorch a little and I tie them back away from the lights. I try to tie them back before they scorch but don't always catch them before this happens.

Hey Ichabod Crane are you saying that you have a room within a room, so to speak? I'm a bit confused at your layout...

He said he has a lung room- its a room separate from the actual grow area where the grower sets up the climate control equipment, that way you can draw air from the lung room to multiple bloom rooms and not have to buy extra equipment, also makes it simpler to monitor.

Cold is right.

In my lung room I can reduce the RH, add CO2, cool or heat.

If you are dumping cold out side air that is -20 F like I did the other night you want to warm it up some before it goes into your flower room. That is what you use the lung room for.

With a lung room I can condition multiply rooms with one set of equipment rather than a set for each room. I can also get to this equipment to work on it if need be during the lights out phase of flower.

It also allows me to use the heat from a lit up room to heat a room that is in the dark phase. Or to use the humidity from one room to humidify another to keep the RH more stable.

Because I have several rooms I can stagger my harvest as well. Or with multiple rooms you can isolate any problems you may have. This could be bugs, mold, or the plant that chucks pollen by accident.
