Who here is making their own fish hydrolysate, maybe Gil Carandang style?
If not, what kind or product do you use? Is there concern of heavy metals or other impurities coming through, or does the process maybe displace any of that?
In effect, does anyone know if I go to a carniciera/market and get some seafood toss items or large fish, should I be concerned with any certain factors?

MM - sorry I referred to you wrongly, I misspoke. I meant to say the lower the pH for more possibility for fungal dominant tea!

Also, I would not adjust the pH. The microbes will do that naturally for you.
Mines pretty hard 300ppm - ph around 8.
I usually use citric acid when watering, but i don't bother with CT. The ph adjustment of citric acid is pretty short lived and there are lots of microbial processes that will adjust ph anyways. Shouldn't matter either way i speculate.

No big deal. I just nip those kinda statements quickly before they multiply.
So if I wanted to make a little 5 gal (more like 4-4.5) airlift, I would need .4 CFM or more right. That converts to just 11.3 LPM. I currently have an 8 outlet Eco that does 22 LPM total. Does this mean I could do a 5 gal airlift with half my outlets? I found an old 5 gal water jug with a cone top! That's gotta be better than annoying air stones.

MM, I checked out your site for the building your own brewer. I like the airlift/vortex combo idea. I'm a little confused on the inlet of the air. Could I just use a barb, and tighten it down with a hose clamp? I also seen people running the tube down through a long T at the top of airlift tube. Guess I would just need something to hold it down? Think I'm missing a small detail.
There are a variety of ways to input your airline. I prefer using PVC threaded fittings and then a brass fitting with male thread and nipple, however a plastic facsimile works as well. (e,g. poly insert)
