I use a "Plumbers stove" made from a golden syrup tin
and a bit of mesh attached to the tin with a jubilee clip, to serve as support for my pot.
I prefer this as I can put the lid back on and it is safe stowed with plenty of fuel left inside.
Those pepsi stoves work great in combination with a Hexi-cooker, instead of using those smelly fuel tablets. A mate of mine used pre-injection swabs as fuel for his Hexi.. Tea-lights are good for Hexis also.

The X Files. Been on a bit of a binge, started watching from episode 1 on Netflix. Just finished the episode called "Drive" (season 6, episode 2). Interesting note...I knew that Vince Gilligan (creator and main man behind Breaking Bad) had worked on The X Files, but damn...he's been credited on almost every episode. In the beginning mostly as a producer, but lately he's been credited with writing a bunch of episodes. This last episode I just finished had another Breaking Bad connection too... Bryan Cranston was starring in it.

Are you me circa 1998?
We had a little gasifier using the original idea used by the chap who invented the process. An old cast iron kettle, some hose on the spout, material inside, standing on a burner fuelled by the charcoal by-product from the last run. The mad bastard who was doing all this, collected the gas in Mylar balloons.... That house was like a storage hangar for mini Hindenbergs..... We always had plenty of hot water too, thanks to his massive coil of black pipe on the roof.
