Yes, they should be allowed to refuse the business of any piece of shit that walks in the door.
They just arent allowed to hide behind religion to discriminate against anyone for anything.
Being refused service for being a dick is not the same as being refused business cuz you suck dick, or dont like dick

They have their right to free speech, as long as they don't step over the line to harassment. They might want em to put up inside their own houses for all the shop owner knows.
I'd sell em the signs.

EDIT
They might also want the signs to sell as merch on Westboro batshit church dot com. None of my business as a sign maker.

I love each and everyone of you. It was never my intention for this thread to be so emotional. Life is hard. There are 7 billion of us, yet being at peace with yourself is the toughest thing in the world. If I offended anyone I apologize.

I am always trying to find where personal freedom intersects with the rights of others.

For the times I have missed that line, I sincerely apologize.

Yes, exactly.
You should be allowed to refuse service to anyone, or accept the business, that should be up to you.
Thats not discrimination, and its not even a valid argument to this discussion.
Like the sign says, you have the right to refuse service to anyone, but it cant say you refuse to serve certain groups like blacks, or rednecks, inbreds, etc, etc

Throughout human history, man has always favored his own kind, and still does. Whether it be race, religion, nationality, sex, tribe, family, etc. Is this discrimination? Animals discriminate also. Does a pride of lions welcome a newcomer? No.Did ancient tribes accept other tribes? Depends. As the distance between tribes increases, tolerance decreases. It's always been that way....and still is.

We aren't talking about tribes with distance between them though, we are talking about people having to get along together as a part of society, and the societies we live in are based largely upon the notion that everyone who lives in or hails from a particular geographical area with defined boundries, known as a nation, is part of the same tribe.
I do agree that human beings are inherently tribal. We channel this now through sports teams or being fans of a band/singer. You can see it happening at school as the kids split off into the jocks and the nerds, and the various groups based on music subcultures.

By Private I mean not government owned. Not tax payer funded. Of course there are standards, fire alarms, fire extinguishers, food, temp regulations.

Just because there is a sidewalk in front of a store, doesn't make that store government run. The side walk is public. Those that disagree with the operating of that business has the right to protest on that public sidewalk.

My pic of pepper spray cop is posted in comedic response to your post.

Not to mock or denigrate your position, but actually
to offer a visual aid.

You mentioned protest, I posted a pic of protestors.

I protest your randomly posted protest pic.

Which lacks context or back ground info.

How dare you sir!

Nothing random about it. Context is protest, which you mentioned.
No dare, just a simple reply to a simple post.

Not to mention you were somehow unable to respond to this post about the private business that the people could protest

Private? LOL
Should walmart be allowed to discriminate? Are you saying people can just boycott walmart?
Do we then get tax refunds for paying for their employees benefits?

Wal-Mart's low wages have led to full-time employees seeking public assistance. These are not the 47 percent, lazy, unmotivated bums. Rather, these are people working physical, often difficult jobs. They receive $2.66 billion in government help each year (including $1 billion in healthcare assistance). That works out to about $5,815 per worker. And about $420,000 per store. But the federal and state aid varies widely; in Wisconsin, a study found that it was at least $904,542 a year per store. (See the accompanying chart.)

Why, I keep asking myself, do we effectively want to subsidize a private company’s employees?

Free enterprise must be dead in America.

Come to Japan my friends.

In 2014 it is still common to see "No Gaijins allowed" signs.

Gaijin = Foreigners,non-Japanese.

I can't just wear a Kimono and Become Japanese. I can't get on my knees and pray myself Japanese. I will never be Japanese. They simply do not want to do business with me for a reason that I can never change It was shocking to the system at first. It was tough after being told yes all my life, to finally be told no. But I got over it. I walked around the corner and spent my hard earned money at Gaijin friendly establishments.

They are great full for every Yen.

I had to come back to this.

Some good things in Japan, but lets not pretend it doesn't have a really murky side. Fancy owning a 14 year old girls used(unwashed) undies? You can get em in a vending machine. In the market for a pre-pubescent silicone sex doll? No problem in japan. Animated kid porn, it's all good in a the land of the rising sun. Yay market.

This^^^ My Bro thinks he owns the house he is paying a mortgage for. I told he owns the right to occupy it, the queen owns it.
He argued so I said
"Build an extension without planning permission or knock it down and build something twice the size, that is not in keeping with the other properties nearby, and then tell me if you own it."

Harry, you and I do not see eye to eye on a lot of things..But that's OK in my book. The world would be a very boring place if we all were alike.
That said, I can tell from reading your posts that you are a fairly well educated young man, with very strong personal beliefs of your own..and I truely would enjoy sitting down and talking with you and discussing the world's problems over a pint or two...
My question to you here is, in your comment about your brothers house, do you feel this is the way it SHOULD be, with the govt. having full reign over every aspect of our lives, including ownership of what we consider our own property? i was just curious as to what you thought about this....

.

If only mate, I was done with school by the time I was 14. Actually, in the interest of accuracy, I should say that School was done with me, having thrown me out for being a bit cheeky or telling them to get stuffed when they said to cut my hair. Truancy=suspension and eventually expulsion, brought to you by the same logic as "Killing people is bad, m'kay, so we're going to kill you to demonstrate that we think killing people is bad" I've often thought of going back to school, but with the tuition fees situation, I can't see any employer giving me credit for getting a degree sometime in my 30s, to make the crippling debt slavery worth it, and with thousands of graduates stacking supermarket shelves, whats the point. My Gran says I'm a "Frustrated intellect" whatever that means.

Regarding my bro and building regs, I'd say you need the middle way.
You shouldn't be allowed to build some great carbuncle that blocks the sun out of your neighbours garden (which they "own"), or destroy something of architectural/historical significance (these are things of culture and culture belongs to everyone), but broadly speaking, with the exception of things like that, your property should be yours to what you want with, right up until the point just before you doing what you want with yours, interferes with what someone else wants to do with theirs. Where there are competing interests, there has to be compromise. I believe in personal liberty where you aren't screwing with somebody else, but there are always limits, having lived in lots of anarcho-squats, I can tell you that liberty usually means liberty to do that which I agree with. Try frying up some bacon or bringing a kebab home to a squat full of vegans..
I'm a Pragmanarchist.

It would be a boring world if we all thought the same.... And who would I argue with then......

Boy, ain't that the truth Harry!.... LMAO...
Like me, we don't have to go to university and have a degree to be educated.. i haven't got a sheepskin on the wall.
I've known people with 'em who couldn't figure their way out of a cardboard box..
We probably share as many beliefs as we disagree with each other on....If all the people just lived by the "golden rule"..
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"....just common (uncommon) decency toward each other...
Unfortunately, I realize, at my age, that that is NOT human nature, and will sadly never happen...

Private property is private it should not be a public debate, just vote for what establishments gets to stay around with your money. Being hateful of your customers is not a good business model.

But to trichriders point, their is no private property in America, all the property belongs to the "corporation" which is controlled by the banks.

And it reminded me to purchase a copy of Jo Hindmans terrible 1313 . It is bound to be a good read. Its about METRO. It should be here in a few days.

Here is a review its sort of extensive so ill shorten it and the reader may decide to read the rest at the link or not.

METRO 1313 - Worth Reading...

METRO 1313 – HEAD OF THE BEAST; in three chapters
By David A. Newby and “Grandma Herman”

Chapter 1

This article is the one that is going to give the money interests and government at all levels the greatest case of heartburn imaginable. I do not make this claim lightly as this article will evidence.
We have all been wrapped in a web of such massive deceit that it has been virtually impossible to see the complete picture. Many authors have gotten pieces of the puzzle over the years and I must commend their work and effort. Had it not been for the gathering of all these pieces it would have been impossible to put the puzzle together. I will do my utmost to paint the full picture for you in this article.
To start one must go back to June 7, 1629 and the Charter of Freedoms and Exemptions to Patroons. In the synopsis in Documents of American History it states in part: "Under this charter a few Patroons secured control of most of the land along the Hudson River, some of the land grants, such as those to Killian Van Rensselser, were enormous."
Article VI of this charter states, "They (the Patroons) shall forever possess and enjoy all lands lying within the aforesaid limits..." One of the possessions the Patroons were granted to "forever possess" is Manhattan Island, the financial center of the world. The Patroons charter was granted by the "Company." It is this author's assertion that the "Company" was the Dutch East India Company, which is now known as BEIC, or the British East India Company. Remember it is the Dutch Robbels Bank of the Netherlands that holds the receivership of the United States Bankruptcy and it is also this banking entity that recently purchased the failed Baring's Bank of London. By right of this charter granted by the Dutch government the inheritors of the Patroons hold possession of the highest priced piece of real estate in the world. All of these historical threads tie together into the present.
I happened upon a book entitled Terrible 1313 Revisited written by, Jo Hindman published in 1963, This book put everything into clear focus and I will try to make sense to you about what it revealed. As the book states, "In the beginning was the National Municipal League in New York (founded in 1894). In the 1930's, part of the organization pinched off to colonize Chicago. The headquarters of the latter group at 1313 E. 60th Street, a four-story building on the University of Chicago Can1pus became the Metro capitol, known around the globe Cable address is PASHQ and nicknamed 1313 by, Metro devotees themselves.
This municipal organization known as "Metro" was and is funded by a Rockefeller Spelman Grant. Ahh, see how the money powers are all. right there?
Continuing from Hindman's book:

"Of the twenty-two core organizations (now twenty-three following acceptance of BOCA, Building Officials Conference of America), two co-leaders -Council of State Governments and Public Administration Service -steer the collective cluster. Broadly speaking, CSG controls the political and judicial divisions of 1313; PAS promotes economic Metro.
CSG claims secretariatship of the following groups:

Governors Conference
Conference of Chief Justices
National Legislative Conference
National Association of Attorneys-General
National Association of State Budget Officers
National Association of State Purchasing Officers

Many others since this date in 1963 have more than likely been created.
Now I feel it appropriate to share just what Metro is, Quoting from the book:

“The giant combine that conspires against you proceeds virtually unnoticed, while American attention is riveted in Communism in Cuba and abroad. Metro policy = collectivization; Metro program = "Metro" government.
Under Metro, states would cease. Cities would become enormous satellites ruled by managerial Metro power. Zone space between cities would be strictly regimented according to arbitrary code.
It continues, "...infiltrants of Metro into traditional check-and-balance Federal government (and state government) have and are engineering conversion of the American Republic into a giant collectivized unit."
And further:

“Gigantic expansion of irresponsible executive-staff administrative department of government is a key hashmark of Metro government.”
