Well if it turns out like the Pynamite did under this led unit then I full expect the flavours and smells to be more pronounced than when grown under hid.

Yes, fingers crossed they swell up nicely. I'm keeping the led further away than on the pynamite grow. LED is currently at 26 inches from tops.

"Chem d can be a touchy bitch" !? Nearly asked this earlier m8... Have you ever had the D not yield like she should? I'm at 6 wks 1day(yesterday)and she looks not to her potential!! As I'm saying this though she looks to be slightly increasing in bud size! But weird stuff cus the tips are Nute burnt and have been for several weeks but she hasn't the weight this time.. ^ slowly increasing but bit Fkin la8.
Of 12 DWC buckets she's number 6 the others are fine..well apart from frying the BM(mainly)to get the D soaked with Nutes

Chem d is funny. The last grow of her I had two next to each other. One grew big fat donkey dick colas but the bud was not so tight and a little airy in comparison to how she normally grows for me. The other was like normal. More calyxy, not particularly fat but rock hard nugs. The one that had the big colas gave 5oz the one which was taller and more calyxy gave 8oz.

Also the donkey dick one had much less smell and taste. But I would say potency was about the same.

This was under hps.

Going on the pynamite grow the LEDs just grow the plants differently. 16.5oz is a good return. So nothing to feel embarrassed about!

yea 16.5oz of the some very high grade pynamite… it was lethal!!

Yes I believe it was that the led was too close, was about 2 ft away, but plants were well established as had been vegged under plasma for first week or so, then moved under T5. The pynamites I did last round were no where near as established but yet they rocked on straight away. But I know the chem d is light sensitive.

Now the LED is about 2 ft from the canopy.



You have been looking in the wrong places then. As said in this thread my previous run with this fixture gave me 16.5 oz. My run before than with a much earlier LED model gave 1gpw.

I would never flower under cfl. Infact I wouldn't ever use them for veg. I use T5, plasma, 250 mhal all for veg. And flower I use this just for shits and giggles and for my main tent it has 2 x gavita pro 600w 400v lamps and a Gavita LEP plasma.

T5s are much better than cfls.

But hey, if you don't like LED you are welcome to not come back onto my thread.

I used the big maxibright cfls for veg for a while and found it pretty good, then switched everything to t5s, which are also good but I find need to be closer. and they grow squatter and more bushy.
I reckon both would be quite good but yeah definitely think if I had a choice of one id pick t5s.

16oz plus is pretty good. do they run a lot cooler than hps and is there anything that is equal to 1k hps lights in LED form? sorry if you have answered that already..

Yes they do run a lot cooler than hps. I would say that this unit probably produces about the same amount of heat as a 250w mhal. But all the heat is convective rather than radiant. So below the led its quite cool. The exhaust will remove almost all the heat.

I believe this to be the most powerful led available. I would be wary of going for a higher wattage. The LED at this level can upset young plants due to the intensity of light. But if I you consider that this unit uses around 550w give or take and a 1000 will consume around 1100w. Then 2 of the units would equal a 1000w hid. And one of these LEDs gave me 16.5 oz so with 2 you could hit 33 plus oz. That would be a good amount for a 1000w hid.

ok that sounds quite good. ive never really even seen one of the 1200w Mars LED but it definitely something worth considering. thing is in summer the 1ks get far too hot even though air cooled so it looks like an interesting alternative for that.

Day 29 update.

The chem stank is starting to kick in now as the resin is starting to form. Things are still moving along nicely.

On full strength superior potash and headmasta now. Ec at 1.2 including Magne cal+ @ 1ml / L. Back ground water is 0.5.

Macro not too bad from the iPad camera.
