Are there any breeders now days that aren't pollen chuckers?
more of my keeper strains have come from closet pollen chuckers , than professional breeders .

Why's everybody hating on NY ??? :dunno:
just don't get NYC confused with the rest of the state ..... theres a world of differences between the 2 !!!
there's a pretty equal amount of skanks & Babes no matter where ya go ......

Master genecistists take days to develop consistency in a strain.

Business model
1.grow plants in bad environment
2.hermie plants due to bring a master breeder
3.team up with washed up rapper
4.sell seeds for huge markup.

Are you referring to Wiz as washed up?

Cause im sure his minds elsewhere than rap at the moment.

Dansbuds- I think most elites do come from the closet chuckers, I just don't think these seed companies are worth the millions they are making

what are they worth ? making seeds is not a easy task, getting proven genetics ? agreed not all the seed companys are legit but most are trying to give us what we want , its up to you if you want to pay there price, if not search for years for good product and make your own. supply and demand rules, I spent 300 bucks 10 years ago on some seeds and it was well worth it even though most of them hermed, the keeper I found paid for that bag of seeds a 100 times.

I guess they are worth whatever people are willing to pay them. I know it's hard work especially picking out and sorting the seeds. I guess my problem is most of the seeds I have started weren't better than the parents. I think the goal should be to improve the genetics. I have to admit though, I have only started seeds from like 5 different companies.

I wish all the crosses were better than the parents but in reality this rarely happens, s1's are more likely to give you that feature. its a crap shoot with seeds, what they do is give you a starting point if you don't have access to clone only strains, find the one you like the best and start working it with crosses or back crosses, reverse it, whatever you feel will make it better,

Someday I hope to make my own elite that I can share with the world. Something that I can say, hey I made that. Right now I would be happy just to get an elite in my garden. Around here the rare strains don't get shared and have an MSRP, lol.

A few months ago I was going to try making my own cross and ended up pollinating 6 different females on accident (they weren't the intended target). I have been hesitant to pop them though because the females were all from feminized seeds. Do you think the beans will herm?

sometimes you just gotta drop the cash to get yourself off to a good start, when i was first getting going on more than a closet scale i traded a few zips of bagseed dank for about 20 or so cuts of 3 different strains...I probably wouldn't have made it too far without decent genetics and the initial investment, but things tend to work out in the long run....truly sucked to trade the few zips(was getting $400+ a pop back then) especially since I was only running 1kw.

to answer your question regarding the herms...not 100% guaranteed to be herm but they could be more likely to be herms if they were genetic herms rather than stress induced herms

If it seeded a clone from the same mother.... its a self seeding herm... no bueno...

If it seeded a different strain, you'd have a feminized cross.... with exactly the same stabilization as some elite pollen chucks...

I'd throw some down and see if you got a winner....
