So im mid way thru week 4 of flower and im debating getting a NEW 600w lamp to finish them off. The lamp I have now is used but im not sure of how old it is. Im starting to think it may not be as efficient as I would have liked. Whats everyone's opinion on new bulbs? My dude at the hydro shop has hortilux 600w hps for $102 out the door.

Also here are some pictures of where the grow is thus far, any input would be Greatly appreciated.

This is my strawberry cough

heres the top of my girl scout cookies, thin mint cut

It looks real good to me bro. Maybe cut off some lower branches that don't get a lot of light. I would also do some defoliating. There's a whole thread dedicated to defoliating if you aren't familiar. Lights last for quite a while, pretty sure there's a thread for that too, lol. Bulbs are also a lot cheaper on ebay anyways, Nice grow!!

What a jungle!! Well done!!!

If you take care of bulbs....they'll last depending on hours on. Every 3 yrs? I think that's what I did in ballast/bulb HID system.

so how much should i defoliate? i did some reading last nite on various sites and from MY understanding of it all it looks like its recommended that you take off most fan leaves that arent associated with bud sites during flower.....any input?

Looking good, right on track! Leave those leaves on....they're the solar panels for your buds. I only remove leaves that are dead or dying....they are on there for a reason. What you can do next time is clean up the lower part of the plant at the end of veg or by the end of the first week or so of flower. This will eliminate all the scraggly lower stuff and the plant will focus it's energy on all the top colas. You don't want to be removing large amounts of plant material once you are well into flower as this could shock and stress your plant.

Remember, when in doubt to follow the golden rule: LITFA!!!! :)

would a NEW bulb help in packing on some weight in the last half of flower?

depends how old the one your using and the brand.

I ran 2 bulbs for 7 months in a 2000w set up
bought a 2 more for the next run
decided to put one of the new ones in to see if the 7month old bulbs had dimmed any....
it was a nite and day difference, i put the other new bulb in immediately!
I use the same bulbs for several runs but always have new back ups so I compare it against the older ones at the start of every run

btw, 1000bulbs.com has good prices on certain bulbs.
my 1000w 4000K bulb is $7 cheaper than the cheapest place ive been getting it at for 2 yrs.

my HO T5 bulbs,
my 1st T5 fixture came with spectralux bulb.
but replacements are $12 bucks!!
i tried other brands but none were as good as the spectralux imo.
1000bulbs has em for around $6

i unfortunately only have one lighting setup or else i would do a side by side. the old hand me down one is an old hortilux. the new one is some off brand.... i wish i could see em side by side.....or knew a way for a common man to test the output without special equipment
