Calimed- would you be so kind as to list the parts you purchased in your build? I would like to build similar but with ball valves top and bottom to allow a soak-i also like GW's idea of using a can tapper with this unit-thanks!

No problem triple3.

(1) TriClamp 1 1/2" Sanitary Tubing Spools 24" Length

(1) NPT 1/4" Female to 1 1/2" TriClamp Heavy DutySS304

(2) TriClamp 1"-1 1/2" Single Hinge Clamp HD

(2) TriClamp BUNA-N Gasket 1 1/2 " Black-FDA

(1) 1/4" PARAMOUNT SSFP 1000# Ball Valve

(1) Tami Teflon Butane Nozzle

1/4 male to male NPT (Hardware Store)

Anyone have ideas for a different fitting for the Tamisium Teflon butane nozzle? The glacier set up is great but I can't think of another fitting that could work for a butane adapter (and can adapters aren't 1/4" wide) and the Tami's cost more than the tube, requires bank transfer etc...

Any ideas of something that would fill the hole in the NPT 1/4" Female to 1 1/2" TriClamp other than the Tami Teflon Part? I have no problem drilling a hole in a steel part, but I can't think of one that would work.

The Tamisium teflon burane nozzle adapter is only $16 and comes with the fitting needed to attach to the npt adapter. And it is not more than a SS Sanitary spool from glaciertanks.com

A pipe plug with a 1/8" hole.

+ 10 bank transfer (I am wary of the lesser known internet pay options they offer)
+ 15 shipping up to Canada

I would much rather use it, but for the price -

A $3 cap drilled makes more sense to me, can also drop the reducer as well. Just tube, clamp, end cap.

I couldn't find SS Pipe plugs locally, and the cap from Glacier is close to SS Plugs online.

Thanks guys!

I've been rocking this setup since the first of the year. Went with a 36", which holds between 8oz-10oz, depending on maternal and pack job. I skipped the pricey butane adapter, and went with a barbed fitting that the #2 butane tip fits into snugg! I also went with 1/2" male end caps for the tube, instead of 3/8" ,I believe. 1/2" SS ball valve, on top, a must for switching can's with no back flow! I've got it setup, virtually hands free, other than palming the bottom of the butane can, while depressing the gas. One more, adjustment/piece, and I'll be 100% hand's free, other than switching cans!

Great idea. I assume your ball valve fits directly into - http://www.glaciertanks.com/product.cgi?group=1636&product=1637 (or similar) and then hose barb into the valve? Makes sense, always lost all the pressure switching cans on my 4oz glass tube.

Out of curiosity, how did you fabricate a stand for it? Seen an example on TC but not having a welder means it's a no go. I've thought of something similar to Gray Wolfs example (http://skunkpharmresearch.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/borosilicate-tubes-001-1.jpg) but procrastination and all that.

Can you post some pics of this? I am looking for an alternative to cantapping for my terp. I would prefer to stick the butane can into some setup directly into the collection pot of the terp but it has to be sealed so atmosphere can't get in and so butane won't squirt out.
Can you describe what you mean by hands free on this?
Much appreciated.

@CarefulGrower... you got it, exact piece from Glaciertanks! I should mention, I used one on top of the tube, with a 1/2" SS Ball valve, and one on the bottom with just a mesh screen hose clamped on the male end of the bottom.
As for the stand... I didn't make one, I improvised! I use 2 - 4" blocks of wood, 2 - 12" quick release hand clamps (HomeDepot) and one of the support beams from my backyard awning. Basically, I'm clamping the Tube, Block of wood & support beam, to hold my extractor in place, just over the collection vessel.
@icdog... I'm having issues posting pics. But basically by hands free, I mean... With the tube clamped, I can just stand next to it, while depressing the butane can, with the palm of my hand. The only thing I'm doing is holding down the can, on the top. A couple of Ideas and adjustments and I will be hands free with device in mind.

The clamp is loose around the coffee filter and gasket. Need to fix that or use a pipe clamp instead.

That's a really nice piece of hardware Calimed.
I think a screen disc outside of the filter would be good blow-out insurance. I think you mentioned that earlier.

Thanks Stond_Face and Jdee. I debated for awhile if the mesh gaskets were worth 15 bucks each for the price point I wanted to keep the unit under compared to just using coffee filters like I've usually done with glass tubes.

I think it's the same gasket I bought, just with mesh, so I'm not sure if using one of those instead of the plain gasket with a coffee filter would tighten up the bottom clamp much. For blowout related matters though, I just noticed there is a big red disclaimer warning on the Glacier Tanks website that these mesh gaskets are not be used in high pressure applications. Are BHO extractions high enough pressure to warrant this being a concern?

The end cap with cutout would definitely work, as well as stuffing in more coffee filters than the example in the picture. If shipping isn't too bad, I may get those end caps. Going to play around with multiple coffee filters tomorrow and see how well that holds.

The butane injection port is the tamisium one. After seeing what it really is... I'll just drill a 1/8" hole in an end cap in the future. This would make the cost of the unit much cheaper and would cover the cost of a mesh gasket upgrade for the same price point.

Although I to, thought the mesh gasket to be a bit pricey. As well as the butane port adapter.
I'm glad I went with the mesh gasket, and made my on butane port, instead. Money well spent IMO.
But, I'm also running a Male 1/2" end cap...
http://www.glaciertanks.com/NPT_TriClamp_Adapters-NPT_1_2_Male_to_1_1_2_TriClamp_Heavy_Duty.html

I don't have any problems sealing the bottom with the mesh screen & multiple custom cut coffee filters on both sides of the mesh gasket.
I do believe the top of the unit, to be the most important part to seal real good. Again though, I've had no problems with sealing issues, on both ends!

If you look at the inside part of the end cap, you'll notice the size of the hole is smaller then the other end cap. I believe this also helps reinforce the mesh screen, helping to prevent any blow outs. I don't think the pressure gets high enough, for a blowout, if your open end blasting. My 2cents!

Got some 18" x ~1.75" (inner tube) glass tubes, any idea idea amount of trim to pack? I was packing about 112 grams fairly tight. Read elsewhere someone mentioning packing after every handful of trim, tried that yesterday and got 150 grams in there. Going to flip the patty today then compare the yield.

Just lookin for insight on what amount people rec going with
