Papaya f2 dwc grow

Hey ic. This is my first journal on ic second total. This is my little growshow, the box. Growing a papaya f2 from nirvanas papaya that i received in the early 2000's. I really like this strain. It was my first everything when it came to growing. first legit seeds, first successful grow, first attempt at chucking pollen so she'll always be around and its been quite awhile since i popped one so let the show begin! Hope i do it justice. The box: im running a digital/dimmable 400 watt at 50% using a 4 in inline fan/carbon filter combo tweaked down to about 60% with no noticeable buzz. I grow dwc using gh nutes, and dm zone. Equal parts of all three nutes up until a week or two into flowering then switched to the Lucas formula. Please don't hesitate to make suggestions or ask questions. Stay green ic

Thanks for stopping by mutt :tiphat: day 14 and chugging along. I usually like to top for 6 to 10 branches and do i little lst but i think im going to let it go natural this time. Prob gonna flip the schedule in a few more days.

Gonna change res today and flip. Should see sex in about a week hoping its a lady. Last dose of equal parts prob throw in the hps in a week and start the Lucas. Love the vigor of this strain surprises me everytime i pop a bean. Hopefully the show starts to get good. Shoot me some karma for a lady folks! Peace ic.

Gonna follow along. I loved growing papaya out. I still have a couple beans left I'm wanting to cross with some cali-o. :tiphat:

I think papaya would be a great choice as a parent for a cross. I haven't seen many and its such a stable plant I've grown quite a bit of the f2's and have never seen a hermy most plants are quite alike not alot of pheno variation but some and she is very tolerable to abuse i tortured these everything way you can think of. I would love to play around with some breeding projects but my space is very limited now. Good luck with the cross and thanks for stopping by guys. Heres a couple pics 2 days in, starting to stretch a little.

I dont know man.... im having also major issues with pictures in forums in general
we need some experts lol...

Couldn't help it and did some minor lst. This will actually be my first lst without topping first. Well see what happens. Might have to changeout tomorrow as she is dropping ppm alot faster than expected might go ahead and just throw in the hps and switch to the Lucas then. I believe i see my first sign of a lady! Later ic!

Absolutely not cheifbig welcome aboard bro! I love what u did with those nl very nice. Well she responded very well to the lst and she is a confirmed she. So let the fun begin.

Changeout. Snapped a couple while she was out. I switched to the 1-2-3 ratio after having slight problems with the Lucas. I have only ran the Lucas last run and it wasnt until around week 5 or so and i saw a noticeable difference in bud swell and i wanted to do it earlier this run to see any difference so the Lucas for me and my setup this early isn't working right now. I will use it in mid flower though a little earlier than 5 weeks in but for now its 400 ppm of 1-2-3.

Looking good dillydally! the papaya looks really good! im liking the leaf and plant struckture alot.

Tell me a bit about your hydro pot. Ive always been a soil guy, but im thinking about doing a setup like yours one day. Does is make a lot of noise in general? Im thinking fan noise+water pump+sound of bubbleing water adds up to alot?

Anyway,,, best of luck mate

btw, diana gabaldon, great choise :smoke:

Hey kkmmbb im running just a basic 5 gal. DWC tub. Its not really that loud in an enclosed environment and you could buy real good pumps made to be quite so i think that's not to bad. My issue is the exhaust as its quite loud and covers any other noise. I run two separate pumps to two separate stones and that's it a basic set up. If you are really interested you should check out stealth hydro i got my first gig from them and its fairly cheap 30 bucks or so and comes with all you need. You can even get step by step feeding instructions including a small supply of nutes. Probably the cheapest and simplest route if you just wanted to give hydro a go and see if you liked it. Need a few other things ph/tds and it may take a few rounds to figure out your set up but man i love it. Requires a bit more time with the plants than soil as well if you are the busy type. But anyway i think it could work if you wanted to stealth it out growers are genius man! Thanks for the interest heres a couple right at lights out.

Sup ic. Had the day off spent it playing in the box. Cleaned the scrubbed dust cover as it was getting nasty and noticed a big difference after was happy with that. Cleaned pump filters also noticed a big difference. Got a little "surfers hair" from keeping the hps to close trying to combat the stretch she is 19 days in now so it should really be slowing down so bumped up the light and did a changeout switching to the Lucas which should also help with the stretch and hopefully kick her into gear. PPM at 780. Stay green ic.
