Bokashi - Topical Application + Results ?

I am experimenting with Bokashi.


The really cool guy at the local grow store gave me 2 bags of Bokashi bran.

I mixed it up, 3 heaping tablespoons to about 3/4 gallon of water, so basically 1 fluid ounce of dry bokashi per pint of warm water.

Then I poured it on a smaller White Castle that I'm using as a test plant this go-round. White Castle is a Nirvana strain, a White Widow-ish strain.


Anyway, I just wonder what other folks do for application of Bokashi. i.e. your technique.

And what results, well specifically resin & bud size, that you may have witnessed from using Bokashi.

My recollection, Bokashi is a method to make compost...anaerobic composting meaning you put the "inoculated"bran material (micro-organism's) in a bucket throw scraps (even meats, kitchen scraps) in it seal for a week or more....it breaks down organic matter via fermentation.

As far as a topical feed....not sure about that. I think you need to re-read the directions...or Google it for best application process.

From the bokashi compost, you can make tea....I would use diluted.

Is the stuff you got from the store...is it the already composted stuff?? Like dehydrated compost concentrate to make a tea?? Or is the bran to "make" compost???

There's a night & day difference!!

Found a website with info how to make bokashi....sounds wicked....numerous steps, but inexpensive to make. If interested, I'll post it.

Reminds me of sourdough bread having the process (long fermentation of dough) make the bread that would otherwise be 'whole wheat'! ;o)
 
Bokashi bran is traditionally used as a compost accelerator, and fermentation inoculant, but can most definitely be used as an amendment, top-dress, compost tea ingredient & primary ingredient for growing fungal flats...and works quite well for enriching the soil food web.
