Mk III Terpenator

I thought I could get at least somewhat of a snug fit with hand tightening, not really the case. Using the proper wrenches proves much more effective. Thanks GW, now just waiting on the rest of the parts to arrive. Are there any suitable alternatives to using stainless steel tubing, if you wanted to use lots of different sizes/heights of columns? or is this the best choice due to the fact that it may end up being filled with oil and requiring cleaning?

Having a little difficulty getting the gyrolok compression fittings to fit snug in the 1/4" stainless tubing, it just falls out, when tightened all the way. Did I just get an improperly sized tube/fitting or is there something to do to make it hold snug and leak free?

rule of thumb is finger tight then a half a turn with wrenchs

I arbitrarily chose to keep everything that touched the medications stainless, with minute exposure to Viton and PTFE, but you could use a PTFE lined hose for the vent line.

No problem with cleaning them. They get regularly flushed by use.

Good point!

Portland Paramount Supply is selling enough Terpenator kits, to add a left column tab on their site named Skunk Pharm Research. Click that and the parts are all listed.

Thanks brov! So there is only a tri clamp flange on you lid or do you have a ball valve on the other side?

Not sure I know what you mean. If you mean above the reducer, between packed column, no. Have thought to do that. To isolate column, with butterfly valve.

Were you discussing collection tank, or gas storage tank?

basically the gas goes in the top of collection column, into bottom, then the tee on base of column is opened to feed back into storage container, by heating collection to 110F, and freezing the other end to about 30 degree's.

I am glad to help any, with lil terp questions!!!! I have bothered GW so much, the least I can do is pass on the knowledge, and alleviate the number of questions he answers everyday, out of the goodness of his heart, asking nothing.

One thing is that the 1.5 inch tri-clamps connecting to 6" to 1.5 inch reducers, should be heavy duty wrench tightened clamps, since they never need to be undone.

May make major modification if GW concurs, adding butterfly valve above concentric reducer. Will update.

To everyone, Be Well, and BE SAFE!!!!!!!!
