Sorry guys, this is probably an inappropriate question for this site as mjpassion has pointed out this is probably more of a traffic case than a mj. been drunk and not thinking clearI'm not opposed to closing thread.

Dude,
Show up in court and ask the judge if you can speak or better yet write up a letter to him. Tell him you need your Dad at home to run the household. They may just slap an ankle bracelet on him.

Nah he's going to prison no matter what.I was just trying to find out if there's some kinda loop hole or something to get it reduced.supposed to get first offer today but haven't heard from him yet.

Hate to say it but save the $s for the lawyer. I'm thinking that eventually they will release him on PR without bail money being tendered. In Colo that seems to be the case anyway.

Buy the best lawyer you can. Hopefully one that golfs and eats lunch with the judges. The delaying game is best IF he can keep his nose clean. Eventually they might drop charges, reduce charges,,, and hopefully give him probation, or alternative sentencing.

This is what I've seen here in Colorado.

Disclaimer: The advice is worth about what you paid for it. lol

Good luck to you and your's.

But Don't let him keep doing this shit.... eventually they will turn the key.

Delaying tactics:

Show up w/o a lawyer.

Plead 'no money' to hire one.

Ask for continuance.

Change plea.

Change attorneys.

Ask for continuance. again.

ALWAYS try to be negotiating with the DA.

Enroll in AA. It's free and the courts seem to like it. Shows effort to change.

Change attorneys again.

If the DA has a 'load'. After a year or so he'll get tired (hopefully) and make a deal.

Wrong attitude... be positive, and be proactive. If you don't expect to win,,,,, you won't.:tiphat:

Its a lot easier to defend yourself when your not locked up so I think bail him out, keep continuing while finding a lawyer is best

Some very fine advice being given.agood lawyer can make anything happen.I've been a mutiple offender and used the right guy everytime. Gather money and get representation.as one of the other posters said you need the guy who rubs elbows with judges.the decision comes before the court date.

It's not your fault he doesn't have a licence and decided to drink and drive...

this is a good opportunity for both of you to change directions and avoid that brick wall you were heading for.
