Disaster at Corvette Temple!

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Construction to repair the damage left by a massive sinkhole at the National Corvette Museum is well under way, as well as efforts to recover the lost vehicles.

The sinkhole, estimated at 40 feet wide and 30 feet deep, opened up last Wednesday and swallowed eight Corvettes.
It caused millions of dollars in damage and shocked car enthusiasts across the globe.

I've been watching old re-runs of Cheers..
Just saw an episode where Sam Malone drives his 'vette up to
Cheers, and parks in a space Woody was holding for him..

Good shot of the car.. Looked like a cherry, ragtop '66 Stingray...with the 427 checkered flags emblem on the fender.....WOW!

The C2 was the Vette's paramount vintage.

The 1963 327fi C2 Stingray is by probably my favorite classic of all time. That and the '67 Shelby GT 500.

I love the split window. This thing is a thing of beauty.

Sam Malone's 'vette was VERY similar to that one Gramps,
except it had the chrome sidepipes and the ragtop..

When I was in high school in the late 60's, the man who lived 4 houses down,
had a gorgeous black split window hardtop (I thought it was a '66) stingray for his daily driver.

But inside his 2 car garage was his pride and joy. A 1956, in better than new condition.
It was pearl white with pearl pale yellow in the side insets.. His garage floor was epoxyed, and when the car rolled out of the garage, it was right onto the ramps of his enclosed trailer, on it's way to another indoor colliseum car show.. He had all kinds of trophies and ribbons for that car in his garage...

That is why a Vette should be in a owner garage instead of a museum and wow sad but picture sure looks like a photo chop my new addition to the family last year for the wife
