Good News

Lots of new pistils are forming

To be safe, I will drain one more time and refill with fresh nutes

Just another example of why hydro rules

I missed your question about pot size.

The plants under the leds are both in the same tote, using ~ 2 g of nutes (see post #26 for pic). That is pushing the minimum limits. I plant to use a deeper tote for next grow

!!!!!! looking REALLY good. im kinda faded right now but what size pots do you use? AND, most importantly, what is your power bill looking like??? i had a 600w but for a closet space it was not worth the heat and energy for 2-3 flowering plants.

Have you grown with LED before? how do you like it? Im saving for a LED system/soil to save on money and still get good results

Just drained the rez and replaced with fresh nutes @ 550ppm

Too late for existing leafs, but the buds have perked up, which is most important

Edit: My mag glass shows small healthy new leafs near the tops of the buds :woohoo:

Looking good!!! What do you expect to harvest from this 180w LED grow? And have you ever had any luck using soil with LED using 2+gal pots? dont have the funds to get hydro yet, but i am getting a setup like yours minus one 90w light. (gonna grow 1-2 plants)

Loving your setup! wish i could check it out myself! im more of a see it and learn it lol! few weeks and i should be getting ready to work on my room, just using yours as a guideline.

Diggin it

Soil is too messy, even for one plant.

Make sure you put it inside a much larger container to catch runoff/spillage, etc. Various size totes are available at Dollar Store/Lowes/HD...

As to how big the harvest, well the leaf issue will definitely impact overall yield.

Installing the cube/scrog net certainly increases yield

I added it a bit later than I should

Keep in mind these clones are small pheno, meaning smaller yield

nice ok, i might just do that then. i got a outside closet (apartment) thats white washed and has a light with airflow in it. i can get 2 tall plants in it so thats the max i might do... might just build a soil bed so i can just keep it in there? have you ever used a soil bed on the whole floor? better then pots?

If you have separate grow pots it is easier to move them around

Just put down a couple inches of gravel for any accidental runoff to absorb without soaking the bottom of the plants

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]I missed yesterday's update due to hangover. Brain fart: If too much alcohol will fuck up body chemistry, certainly a too-heavy concentration of minerals would too

I know it looks bad, but plants have bounced back. It took me a bit of head scratching to recall, but...

Prior to the leaf burn, I mixed a batch of 500ppm nutes using 200ppm of Sea Corp sea minerals, most of which went into the bubbler, as the hot5 tent is no worse for wear. (The good news is, the sea minerals has worked wonders on my lawn , which was the primary reason for buying it)

So was the burn due to the combination of lowering the light + hot minerals, or just mixing the minerals too hot? Thinking < 100 would be fine (< 1/4 of the total ppms)

Anyway, new lush green tiny leafs are appearing at the base of the buds + fresh pistils. Maybe if you double click on the pic you can see both

Now that the led clones have recovered from over mineraling, I decided to bring them closer to the leds. Now within what I consider normal range, ~ 15". They were ~23" away

I will post pics by Friday

It appears I may not have the 190w panel that was offered in time for my next grow, so looking for a interesting substitute

I believe COBs inside ~ 100* parabolic reflectors, passively cooled, is where grow lights should go

These are ~ 100w, and only ~ $100

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Gro...8570169?pt=US_Hydroponics&hash=item2c7735b7b9

3 of these would work IF the COBs were available in NW and WW

Alas, they are typical mixed spectrum cobs. Outdated tech

I'll keep looking.

Although they are almost ready, I looked at them under a mag glass- almost no calyxes

Upstairs, same strain but different pheno tons of calyxes

I bet the new cob additions will change that

Too late for this grow, and next grow I am planning on medman's silver skunk, so won't be a fair comparison.
