Help with timer please

Long time lurker, first time poster, hate to bother you guys with such a dumb question but I need some help please. This is my first grow, I have had some girls planted for a month now and they are doing awesome. I'd like to start them on 12/12 to get them blooming but I can't seem to figure out how to get the timer I have to work. It is a Brinks digital timer that I picked up at WalMart (I'll attach a pic). I've been through the instructions numerous times to program it but IDK which mode to set it in when the times are set, auto on, auto off, etc. If anyone has experience with one of these I'd appreciate it if you could give me a hand, or if not, possibly point me at a little more user friendly timer :)

Go to the Auto mode. Auto mode will have Auto Off and Auto On. You only have to worry about Auto On and Off the first time you set it up. If your lights are supposed to be on and you have it on Auto Off, it will take you a cycle for the timer to kick in because you told the timer to be Off. The timer doesn't know it's supposed to be on or off for the first time. If the lights are supposed to be on at the time then go to Auto On if they are supposed to be off then go to Auto Off. Set the off timer to 1am and the on timer to 1pm. You know what I mean. Don't touch the days of the week or stuff like that and you are all good. I would start out by pressing the reset button in case you already pressed some wrong buttons. there's a lot of timers on those but all you need is 2.

Better yields set at 13 (on):11 (off) throughout flowering. Amazing how an hour can produce in the end.

I've read that you can get 1kg/square meter yield by using 16 hours a day on and 18 off. I just can't figure out how to do that on my timer, is there a way I can change the length of the day?

Interesting, I will give it a try, thanks for the tip arid

My experience (although did 12:12 for years)....13:11....reaps maybe 10% up to 15% more yield....with just one extra hour!! Plants like it....ask them!!??!!

Do what you see best fits your grow...

Just remember that some strains ( sativas) will need 12 off sometimes even 13 hours off. Most can handle this but a few WILL NOT flower if there s not enough darkness.
