Good advise, typically guys don't talk to girls because they've already convinced themselves they'd get rejected and so they just don't even try. Yet many very attractive, successful women report they don't get approached much except for guys that are mostly too self centered and egotistical because those seem to be the ones most likely not to be too afraid to approach. It's like the same thing as the lottery, you got to play to win. The odds may seem staked against you and that you may have greater odds of being struck by lightning but If however you don't play then you are guaranteed to not win.
Perhaps a better way is to look at it like a sales man. They look at things in volume, if they determine 1 in 10 will buy something and they want to sell 100 of whatever they're selling, then they need to talk to 1000 potential customers.
