My first grow space is in a mini fridge. It's 3 feet tall, 17" wide and 17" deep.

I have a budget of <$200 US for this light.

In a space that size and my budget, which LED light would you suggest?

Most LED's operate best at 15-24". So that leaves you 1' of space.

Maybe a 90w UFO with 120-150˚ lensing ? Autoflower ?

I would consider a larger cab but give it a go. Use the fixture as a ventilation fan. Mount the side holes inside the cab, top holes out the top of the fridge. Simply move the Plants up and down as needed.

HI JH, and thanks for your reply.

What if I had 4 feet of height? What LED would you suggest now?

Though given the tight dimensions of your cab something with focusing lenses to narrow the coverage may be beneficial. In that case I would consider something like this http://www.evolutiongrowled.com/shop-evolution.html#!/~/product/category=0&id=30111749

This would kick a** in your cab. I checked and it measures 14"x14" and puts out 140 actual watts. Overall you would get something like 62w sq ft which would give awesome performance. Though it would definitely exceed your budget, It would be a worthwhile investment.

A $200 budget for a led grow light really limits your options other than low quality direct from china lights.

Not a fan of multi-spectrum monochrome diodes. Leds original design was based on white leds not being a viable option AT THAT TIME.

Alas, somehow, the R/B blending has stuck in spite of the fact that white diodes include ALL the R/B spectrums AND the knowledge that the 460-550 spectrums are very important, just not as a peak PAR component.

Look at hps, which is very high in 460-550

Also think of the importance of minerals in your diet and/or nutrients, which are necessary in small amounts. BUT, if missing, health issues will develop

It only limits his options if he buys thru the company you obviously have association with. Funny, you mention china, seeing how I would have to believe that most of those LED's on your site are in fact from China.

And no not all LED's from China are bad. Do your homework and stop paying retail.
