tommy-

First off, I'm saddened to hear about your friend. You are a good friend to try to help alleviate symptoms ravaged by cancer. May GOOD positive light shine on you!!

From my experience....using butter or oil based (cooking oil) is easier to tolerate than dabs/oil....but again, depends on what type cancer.

Mentioned to another forum member....making pudding (the old fashioned cook on the stove type) is good. ...use the butter or milk that has more than 2% fat content....steep the material in that. Chocolate, again, from my experience w/ cancer patients....is difficult to digest as it is liver overload. Rice using oil/butter to cook with usually well tolerated.

Of course, every patient is different. First....see what your friend can tolerate, then let your culinary ideas take form.

As you probably know... the cannabis properties are best distributed through heat and oil.

Hi, I will try to look around on the site and pull some traditional butter methods for you.

I will also explain how I do a similar process that gives me relief when I can't smoke.

I am about half way through feeding my cats and be back in a few minutes .

What I do is to break up my cannabis and put it in a mason jar which I put in the freezer along with a bottle of isopropyl alcohol (70% or better ). I let it get nice and cold.
Then I get a new mason jar and a wire tea strainer or mesh . I then take the mason jar with the cold cannabis and the isopropyl and I pour the cold alcohol into the mason jar of cannabis until I have covered the cannabis. At this point, one must work pretty quickly. The object is to only have cannabis and alcohol contact each other for a very short period of time. Once I have poured the alcohol over the cannabis, I quickly put the lid on mason jar containing the cannabis mixed with alcohol and shake like hell for 30 seconds. Then put the strainer over a second mason jar and pour the alcohol off into the second jar keeping the cannabis in the first jar or the strainer. Then I add more isopropyl alcohol to the first container and dump any cannabis caught by the strainer back into it. After adding the more alcohol back to it, I do a second 30 to maybe 45 second wash by shaking it hard with the lid back on. I again pour it through the strainer very quickly adding to the liquid of the first pour off.

I suppose one could do this a third time, but I think that twice really does get it all. That is to say, once you have washed with alcohol twice, you can have pretty much stripped the cannabis of what you wanted from it . I toss the remains away.

The idea is to then take and make a little double boiler, it is really easy. What I do is to get a small sauce pan and fill it 3/4 with hot water then I get a pirrex pie dish and set on the sauce pan . That is my double boiler. I then pour my cannabis alcohol mixture into the pie dish and get the water hot on the stove. A low boil does it very well and pretty quickly. I go through a lot of this, and do it often. I would say that maybe an hour and it will be evaporated .
What you will be left with, is a pie plate with full of hash. Once it has dried, it is scraped out with a single edged razor blade. Go slowly, be careful , take your time, it may help to also use a small pocket knife blade also for the corners. Then I put it in a small glass bottle that I have that I think came from a
Harry and David gift package and it had jelly in it or something of that nature. Small bottle with thick glass - any how I put my hash into the bottle and then add 2 table spoons of butter to it and heat it in a coffee cup about 1/3 full of hot water. What I want is for the hot water to get the hash and butter hot but not to have any water get in. Yes,I put the lid on the jar. I put the coffee cup with the butter/hash mixture in a pan of hot water and let it site maybe half and hour. I can see the butter melting and then I take it out carefully and holding it in a towel shake the hell out of it. I take the little bottle with the butter and hash in it and let it sit , maybe 2 hours. You will see the solids separate and go to the bottom. I collect the thin butter/ hash mixture off the top with an eye dropper and put back in my now cleaned out little bottle. I then add 2 more tablespoons of butter and do it again . The solids that are left are real weak, I just toss the salty solids away. I add the thin separated butter together and put it in my little glass bottle . Once I have that done , I get the oven hot to 235 and I check it with a digital thermometer . Then I get a little tuna can, and half fill it with cat litter. I set the thin butter/ mixture bottle in the cat litter with the lid off. The idea is to be able to set it in the preheated oven at 235 for 45 minutes. This is what will give your friend the comfort. You will be converting thca which one would not normally feel when smokeing it into a form which is usable when eaten. The process is called decarboxylation .

After it comes out of the oven, I let it cool and pour it into a plastic dropper bottle.I used to use a visine bottle , until I found one just a bit larger that I have reused. I keep it in the freezer .When I need it , I put it in a coffee cup with a bit of hot water in it until I see it melting, 2 or 3 minutes is all usually takes. Then I use a small syringe to pull off .5 to 1 ml . I use it via sublingual administration.

I am a experienced smoker who is 57 with a lifetime of cannabis use, who has stage 4 clear cell. I have been though the oxycontin, etc - I call that the merry go round from hell . With this substance, I find I almost no longer need the opiates. My use is very, very much reduced . The canna is SO much more kind , but a REAL word of caution , this is just as strong as can be and if she does too much , she will be VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Less is more. I do . 5 to sometimes 2 mls of it , I would think that .2 ml would be a nice place to start . It works very quickly with sub-lingual - I start to feel it within 10 minutes , it is set in very well in 45 mins , it will usually last at least 6 hours with great comfort and holding power .

I know that this looks really convoluted at first. Honestly, it is little more difficult than making breakfast, once you are used to it , it goes quickly. There is a wonderful user named I think badkittysmiles who has a wonderful writeup and pictorial about what is in essence the same process, I will look for it and see if I can find that it - DUH,it was the second sticky in the stickys section at the top of the page.

I am sure you will be able to many traditional butter recipes on here, there seem to be a lot of very fine people here.

If there is anything at all I can do for you, I will be happy to, gar

Sorry the description took so long , I type slowly.

I don't know if you're read about it, but cannabinoids in higher doses can actively fight cancer. Weed can do a lot more than just make you comfortable. It takes high doses to kill cancer cells, which can be uncomfortable for someone without a tolerance. If it was someone I knew, I'd encourage them to start small, stay medicated round the clock, and increase the dose as they get comfortable with it.

Hash oil (on its own or dissolved in 190 proof alcohol) seems the easiest way to go if you want precise control over the doses.

you have to treat before it spreads.....

I know that's the way to go for the best chance at a cure. High dose cannabinoids can still extend life while improving quality of life for someone with late stage cancer. It's not always a miracle cure, but it's an effective cancer treatment. Even if "effective" means giving someone a few more months. I don't see the downsides of trying unless the patient just doesn't like the feeling of being high.

I was diagnosed with clearcell about 12 years ago. I was once 6' 3'' and 205 lbs now am 120 but I am still here. I am all but positive that I would never have made it this far if I had stayed on their pain meds alone. My wife was a md who felt really good about my being on the canna as opposed to the oxycontin with dilliys for breakthrough. I would never want to tell any one that canna is going deliver a miracle, but I would be the very first to say that it can improve the quality of life for them in large ways.

as has been said, thc in high enough doses kills cancer.
the dose seems to be around a gram or approximately 1cc.
while lower doses will make you comfortable, it will take higher doses to defeat cancer...and it takes a prolonged titration to achieve.
I've personally experienced this 'miracle', but as also been said, there are many types of cancer and not all of them will respond to thc therapy.

use garharts method and help your friend, but don't put yourself into the position where you feel guilt if she doesn't respond to treatment.

start with a small enough dose where she can adjust to it's effects.

bless you for your efforts, you're a good friend.

Most Cancer == Cells that have turned to burning sugar to get the oxygen they need to survive.

When the body pH is in the lower acidic range, red blood cells have difficulty transporting oxygen through the blood stream to where it needs to be. Body pH can be defnitively controlled through eating approximately 70% alkaline foods (look it up on the net) and 30% acidic foods.

Eat an alkaline diet, choose your foods by your blood type, avoid all NON-foods and adulterated foods (hydrogenated oils, artificial fillers/sweeteners/flavors/etc). This will set up your body to be in an alkaline state, allowing the free transport of oxygen to where it is needed.

Eating too many acidic foods, foods that are not right for your blood type (causing agglutination and other issues) and eating non-foods will contribute to an acidic system and provide the sugars and other 'food' for cancer to thrive on. Not just live but actually thrive healthily and strongly through the body.

High CBD cannabis is showing to be more effective than high THC cannabis. Eating approximately a pound of extracted oil in 30 days has been the standard "cancer run" dosage for simpson oil to reduce/eliminate tumors.

I cannot stress the importance of a clean diet and the choice of foods by blood type. There are a number of "Cancer Superbeneficial" foods that should be used to increase success rates. Here's the link to the most updated and accurate information I've found, in the last 10 years on the subject.

Processed food and the chemicals they put in them are more addictive than nicotine. I've quit both and the physical 'feen' from food is worse. Be prepared.

Oil Choices
I use olive oil and/or Ghee (clarified butter) when making cannabis oil or cannabutter. They're super easy to digest by everyone of all blood types.

Getting their diet alkaline will have the most impact right away as it will slow the speed of the cancer. This will allow the cannabis extract/edibles to work more effectively and this same condition creates a weakened cancer. Double whammy.

Keep them positive and thinking positive. That is also of extreme importance. You want to really live? You'll most likely live. Negativity feeds acidity in the body... keep things light. :)

Keep it Clean! :D

1 lb of good quality bud, made into RSO, eaten within 30 days. OR as close to 30 days as can be comfortably done. The higher the CBD ratio, the easier it will be for non-cannabis users to tolerate.

Keep it Clean! :D
