So glad we had kids. I see my younger self in them in so many ways but at the same time seeing the individuals that have developed over the years blows my mind and makes me proud to say they are my sons. I miss them everyday now that they are all out on their own. They really are my best friends , like mrcresote says.

my son is 25 no kid.... done with wives too I am now single... no more wives or kids ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for now on I only screw other peoples wives lol

Been married almost 30 years. No kids because neither of us wanted them. It's work out quite nicely

I don't hate kids. I love my freedom. I love having money to save and spend, having time to pursue hobbies (like growing), and having time to sleep at night. I've never wanted kids and I never will. People have always told me I'll change my mind. They're wrong. I'm 38 now, maybe halfway through life. I have way too much I want to do with the rest of my time here. I'm not going to give up my dreams to spend my life doing something I don't want to do.
Lots of women feel that way too. Wanting kids is a dealbreaker for me in terms of dating. It's easy enough finding ones who feel the way I do. I'm getting a vasectomy before I commit to another relationship, so there won't be any chances of an accident or of her changing her mind a few years later.
The missus and I raised three children, the youngest of which will be 32 this year. We started young and always struggled to make ends meet. We provided for our children the best we could and sacrificed our own needs to ensure theirs were met. It's a huge commitment of your time, energy, resources, and sanity. The rewards are many and, to me, totally worth it. I always liked kids though.
Now we also have 5 grandchildren and that's when it really gets good. See, you get to enjoy all the good baby stuff and then when they unleash hell in their didies, you give them back to their parents and they have to deal with it. Let me tell you folks, that is really, really satisfying.

Yes i did, I was an evil little c***, with alot of anger and meanness in me. I think this was sub-consciously because my dad checked out when i was like 3 or 4 like a total POS. Checked out permanently i mean. Maybe it wasn't that, maybe i was just like that for no good reason. When i look back at how i treated some ppl growing up i am disgusted in myself. This forms part of the reason why i don't think i ever want kids.

Would like to hear more about this, particularly the reasons why you did not, and does it alienate you guys in any way from friends that do have families and kids? Why has it worked out nicely?

All of my friends that have kids are BROKE AS F***, one of my good friends in particular kind of got stuck with this girl as he got her pregnant like an idiot. He is so far from loving her, its literally only a matter of time before it all turns to s***. Worst thing is she is now about to give birth to their second child. All he does is go to work in a shitty job for like 12 hours per day 6 days pw, comes home and drinks himself into oblivion most nights. Yay kids! She has threatened to take her own life if he ever leaves her ffs
I know there is a big difference between ppl like my friend and couples that are truly in love and decide to start a family. It's just such a massive commitment and you basically have to sacrifice sooooo much of your life to raise them properly. Maybe having kids in my 40s might be a better option for me.. Maybe by then my feelings on this subject will have changed, i don't dismiss this as an option. I think i would be a good dad too. Strict as f*** i would be, but i would teach any kids i had everything i knew about the world. Something i never had, i literally had to work it all out for myself
I think alot of people also have kids for extremely selfish reasons. Reason number one: girls having babies because there's something missing in their life and they naively think a baby will fix it. That really gets under my skin that one. You gotta have kids for all the RIGHT REASONS, not retarded selfish one's
I wish my kids would hurry up and have kids so I can teach them how to turn on all electrical appliances and lights...

Well i would need to meet a female that i can get along with well enough for that to happen first. Having being raised by a solo mother i made a promise to myself a long time ago i would NEVER repeat this cycle. To many selfish "players" out there starting up franchises imo

Man.. I fell in love with a woman years ago that had a 3 year old from a previous relationship. I've been her full-time "dad" ever since.. It's been one hell of a ride to say the least. She's 8 now and really becoming her own person. It's amazing to watch them grow over the years.
I was always unsure if I really wanted kids, until I ended up with someone elses. I've learned so much about myself in the process that I'm sure I'd like to have my own some day.
