added power bars, insulated bubble wrap, pc fans.
to be used with cfls.


looks nice and clean with all wires running out the back.


This box did not work out. 42w cfl bulbs were a little too bulky...could only fit one at a time...or maybe 2-3 26w cfls along the top bar.




recently got a 100w hps ballast with built in ignitor, bulb and shipping for $60.




ripped the bars out and started from scratch again.
here are a bunch of the materials.

pic of mounted light using metal strapping. <3 this stuff...wires run though a small hole under the fan....remote ballast.


1/4 inch hard plastic outside..white, reflective...styrofoam middle.
this will be my door, secured with velcro.

Yes, I am planning on flowering in this cab. I will be doing a very hard lst and setup a scrog if need be. The distance from the bottom of the box to the glass partition is 22 inches. going to be trying a dwc with one plant at first...maybe give it a week or two veg time and then top it...give it another week to recover and switch to 12/12 and begin the lst.

also want to try hempy in 710 ml bottles...heavy defoliation technique would be required to pull this off I believe.

jsut have to find what will give me the highest most frequent yields.

the reason i ask is because there is no light trap on the exhaust fan. if you run it this way, you would need the entire area the box is in to be pitch black.

also, i can't see any passive intakes. will those be in the door panel?

will be making a carbon filter using pc fan...this will act as light trap. passive intake will be at the bottom of the door with a black t-shirt hot glued over it..again, to let air pass through and to act as a light barrier. This thing is gonna be dope...can't wait to get it going!!!

5x5x8 box sealed all around with shrinkwrap and tape, corners done with glue gun to completely seal it. blue thing in there is to angle airflow upwards towards second pc fan. 12v dc adapter from old cable box. scented dryer sheet to hold activated carbon above second pc fan

here it is all sealed onto the cab...now just have to fill to top of lip with carbon when about to flower.

Here is the front closed using some double sided velcro and rigid foam board from work..lol..el cheapo. you can see the 100w ballast on the side, suspended with the metal strapping. love that stuff!!!


here you can see my diy air cooled thing with the new 120 mm pc fan (50cfm 25 dbl) behind the 100w hps bulb, the black 80mm pc fan for air movement inside the cab, the dwc container, the air hoses that run from the air pump which is hung on the back of the cab itself, (air stones not in pic).



here is a 2 liter bottle inside to give you an idea of what kind of space I'm working with...for some reason it looks like the cab has a lot of room but doesn't really..the pictures are deceiving..or maybe I'm just an idiot.

ya, i built the original one at work...lol. People would come in and see me fucking with stuff looking all busy, so they would leave me alone for the most part. One lady asked and i just spewed a bunch of jibberish at her and she fucked off.

but i brought it home to find that cfls were just too bulky. unless i did the 'remote ballast cfl' thing. but i'm not good with electronics really...and I have a tendency to get really high and start a project and then lose interest in a few hours.

They have 25w CMH floodlights with the ballast built into the bulb. I know it would get hot, but with the right ventilation i'm wondering if I can use one to keep a bonsai mother and micro cloner?

popped 4 nirvana - white rhino beans...all cracked within 36 hours. I've seen a lot of grows with people using low wattage HIDs and was wondering if after the seedling stage I should keep them as close as possible to decrease the stetch? I don't really have room for a 6500k cfl or anything for the blue spectrum. ideas...?

i usually let young seedlings germ under low wattage cfl's. for instance i got some seedlings under 2 23w cfl's right now. they don't seem to like hid until they get their first set of true leaves...

the seedlings are doing good and looking strong...but I'm not sure if their as strong as my girlfriends determination to have this project fail and have my cab in the garbage. she keeps bitching and bitching, so i might have to tell her to go bitch somewhere else...lol I was with mary jane first and aint no fleshy, controlling chick gonna change that shit.
