thats probably why the thread was in moderation, to clean it up. although i'm just guessing on this one, have not followed that thread myself.

A large popular thread was removed and a long time contributing member banned with no explanation. Just let the members figure it out? This is a public forum and a public matter, you guys can hide and discuss this matter in your staff section all you want, there is zero reason to ask these questions privately.

Dont be so sensitive to a question about you or the ICmag teams character or scruples, if you cant defend your actions or positions with words rather than threats or acts of banishment then we will know the facts of the matter.

The question may possible be construed as insulting.

The actions of the ICMAG TEAM with this matter specifically is without a doubt insulting.

Fair play atleast for it being a temp ban. once all this bitching and moaning is done can the mods please (1) choose a mod for the canadian forum, someone who posts here regularly and is familiar with the usual shenanigans, characters and egos, Gaiusmarius, no offense but your post here is testament to how clueless the current mods are with the canadian forum and why this must be done.(2) 90% source of the trouble and people banned from the Canadian forum over the last few years were med man, could the mods atleast please discuss the idea of asking him to stop posting/spamming here.

canadian forum use to be a gold mine of info and discussion,make the changes and bring it back to life.

do you really think you were being diplomatic? no you were being incredibly insulting to the site staff. considering the post i was replying to, i'd say i was very diplomatic. have seen admin do bans for less disrespect.

the thing with GS has been explained. see that thread.

the problem here is not the moderation, the problem is that certain members are always pushing the limits of the terms of use. then comes a day when they go over the line again and some admin sees it and bam they are gone. in the end it's your choice to make, either you trust the site is being run with the majority interests in mind or why are you even here?

no disrespect intended, but you don't know all the reported posts that some of these people cause before they finally get a time out. try not to assume the worst, specially when you don't know the whole story. we can't let this place descend to a free for all where members go on crusades against other members and follow them around harassing them. quite frankly thats not the kind of site we want to be.

look man you don't see all the reported posts i see, you don't see the stuff thats binned and deleted, so respectfuly i say it is you sir who are clueless about what's going on here. for us mods it's the same old same old. these situation arise again and again, we know what we are doing and yes we do have the sites best interest at heart.

as for med-man, hes a member and can post where he likes with in reason, except in other vendors forums. one member posting or not posting in the Canadian section is not gonna change the nature of the information available, saying so is plainly ridiculous.

would you have preferred not to know that it was temp ban? or would you prefer it to look like it was done for no reason? well it wasn't, even if i didn't push the button i was close to doing it myself as explained in the other thread, when the decision was taken out of my hands.

I agree you cant have troll's, I personally dont consider it trolling when one is taking someone to task over their assertions or asking straight simple questions repeatedly if not answered straight up.

Though I can understand how it would get annoying to have to respond and deal with people whom are complaining about others constantly.

I obviously dont have the whole picture, and I missed the vagpunch thread, so what I know is what was presented when I woke up, a good member was banned, and a good thread binned.

I did not see any explanation.
This could have been handled better, no?

as soon as i saw the situation i made sure to explain the situation, even if it wasn't me pressing the ban button on GS i knew exactly why it went there. like i said repeated warning to cease and desist being ignored over a longer period of time lead to one thing more being enough, the name calling was the straw that broke the camels back so to speak. personally i like GS, i'm not pleased it went like this, but i have to accept that it was his choice not to listen to the well meant warnings he was sent over time. he has friends amongst the moderators too after all.
