Reverse Flir

I'm cool, but I've had this idea forever that I can't get out of my head, I'd like to implement it but don't know how.

Every po-dunk town has access to a handheld flir, whether it's through the local fire dept., there own, the county, whatever. And I'm pretty sure they always use it well in advance of going for a search warrant. So, seeing as that 9 times out of 10 somebody is being watched they will never know, ever. If one could know that their spot was peeped by flir from a car, I dunno about you but that would make me close up shop. Not much else would make me close up shop, even if I 'thought I was being watched', lets face it, at points we all think we're being watched, it's something that comes with the game.

So is there a way I can point a infrared camera at the street, have it completely in the background or on it's own laptop just always running and forget about it, but notify me only once it happened. At which point I could watch it and be like "holy shit, that just happened, 100%"

Whats you are asking is just dumb, flir camera's just record the image of 'heat' ...leap to your local Home Depot and rent a flir, they are used by the DIY guys to find heat leaks in insulation, and have a play, as a viable law enforcement tool is just trash, yes guys have been lazy and stupid with the heat generated from HIDs, but is easily dissipated with some smarts

In the state I live in I pay attention to all the indoor grow busts and they don't use FLIR or helicopters or look at electric bills etc.
All busts here come from rats and smell. The bitches drive around with their noses out the windows and smell is enough for a warrant here.
So don't tell anyone and don't let smell leave the grow area and you are safe. There is enough to worry about with just tell and smell, no need to add mostly imaginary stuff on the list here.

I sure remember watching a program where images of heat signatures was shown. It showed people and TV's..a fireplace burning..dinner in the oven....it showed everywhere there was a heat signature.

It is not a stretch to think that police departments don't have access to that sort of tech...especially with their ever expanding budgets.

Just like the military...if they don't spend it all, they can't justifiably request (demand) more and more. It's like fattening up hogs, when they get hungry, you don't cut their feed..although in this scenario,we really should.

Personal FLIR on your iPhone 5s(should be available in March)....really sucks! I can see some eager rookie cops getting them, on their iPhone and using it illegally, to boost his/her career..
My You Tube links seldom work, so this is the link.

they used the unit several times on my old friends setup and never could get what they were looking for... they got a rat and then used chainsaw to enter grow area. so flir can def be beaten... I will admit tho he had the sweetest stealth 30k setup I have ever seen to this day... having cameras watching your pad is always a good idea,,, well your cameras that is...

Supreme court ruled use of FLIR constitutes a violation of the 4th amendment.

I have never heard of an actual case of someone getting convicted or even arrested because their grow was discovered during a general FLIR sweep of an area.

Vostok not reading the first post in a thread is dumb. This is NOT another "omfg can the cops see the 400 in my closet" flir thread.

I am not worried about flir, I would like to use it as a reverse tool against them.

Geographically & legally this might not apply to some of you,
but where I'm from they do what they did to super's buddy as soon as they get a tip/rat/whatever. Every PD has their own or access to the FD's

Supermanlives, if your buddy had an IR camera that was set to record and notify only when it got straight BLASTED from them looking all those times I would think he would have closed up shop & planted some cuc's before they came with chainsaws. He had no idea he was going down, but if we could implement a flir alarm we'd have a 100% heads up.

Is there a way to cut out the non IR recording of an IR security cam?

Does anyone know if there is video recording software that can only record when a certain saturation level is reached?

I know this can be done, just need a techie to help me figure out how.......

/thread. Not going to happen, I don't know why I was thinking these things projected infrared rays of their own like infrared cameras do.

First, the imager itself is nearly impossible for the enemy to detect, as it detects energy emitted from the target rather than sending out energy that is reflected from the target, as with radar or sonar.
