Additional axial limbs where preflowers should be

Has anybody ever seen anything like this? I popped some Appalachia x ECSD beans and have been sorting out whats what as they have showed there sex. I've been culling males and keeping females but I have started to see that some of these plants are starting to grow what looks like additional axial limbs where their preflowers should be. I haven't been able to positively ID what sex they are yet after initially thinking they were females. I want to hold out and see what they do, additional axial limbs = more budsites? In any case, here are the pics. Discolored stem is where I pinched it to slow down vertical growth.

Here is a picture of the plant, sorry but couldn't make it right side up.

Thanks, any input is appreciated.

I am running cannaventures cookie wreck and came across the same thing. it had no bearing over sex some were males other were female. This showed itself more on the train wreck dom phenos. I almost culled them at first thinking there were male preflowers till it opened up in a branch.

It seems that of my 6 remaining plants after culling males 3 are positively female and the other 3 are these mutants with the additional axial limbs. The 3 mutants haven't showed their sex yet either and are really lagging behind. I need to roll forward with getting them around my 600 so I will pot them up and see how it turns out.

*Edit* JohnDoe, where did the preflowers end up showing and how long did it take for them to show? Did they seem to take longer than average to show their sex? Once in flower did these oddballs flower normally with a regular flower time? Thanks

The preflowers developed in the normal spot once the plants got bigger. The only limbs that had this weird growth were the first 3 or 4 nodes. Once I up potted they showed sex with the new growth. The plants are developing buds just as they should. I just cleared these branches out with the rest of the sucker branches. I will look at the clones a lil better and see if they exhibit the same trait or if it was a quirk with the seed plants and report back this evening for ya.

I went back and checked the clones of the plants that exhibited this trait in seed form and it wan not there on the clones. Most of been a quirk from being seed starts. Hope this helps!

I'm not hucking anything out till it shows otherwise but my girls are on. It's weird though, my mew tahnts are rocking 11th or so node with still no signs. Like I said though, I'm considering them females until they show me otherwise. I'll throw up some more pictures as this develops in case anybody down the road runs into the same thing.

Thanks for the input too JohnDoe
