What's up guys? Thanks for checking out my work. I started growing using organic soil many years ago after being quickly discouraged by the headache of hydro systems.
Much respect to the hydro fellas on here, but I just did not have the resources to have all the equipment I needed, nor the craftiness to construct it all myself.
Veg Light: 42W CFL Warm Spectrum
Flower Light: TBA
I had a bean acquired from a local cut of OG, no idea whether it is from a hermie on the same plant, or hopefully pollinated by a banana on another plant, since it most likely was grown commercially and probably in a room with hundreds of plants.
I also had another bean left from somewhere else I have no idea where it came from but it could be anything from true Lambsbread to Green crack, Jack Herrer, Banana OG, could really be from anything I had sampled over the course of about 5 months in the medical scene.
Also to add to the confusion I don't know which is which so we will just have to all pitch in and hopefully try to ID her when she matures a bit more. Hopefully we can identify both!
Anyway now for the details!
10 Days veg
The Beans were cracked using my patented DVD case Method (paper towel in a slightly opened case wrapped with a rubberband, and placed half under a t shirt near a heat source such as a computer exhaust fan) Then they were dropped into jiffy pucks which were hydrated using bottled water. Tap water has not been used and probably won't.
After that the pucks were placed into clear solo cups once roots showed through the puck-bottom. I used fox farm Happy frog for the soil and idiotically did not mix with perlite for better aeration although it does have some in it in my defense.
14-16 Days since Germination
I transplanted on Day 18 out of the solo cups but I may have waited too long. I smelled a sulfuric smell coming I believe from the plants. I have heard this may be root rot but the plants seem unaffected and are continuing to grow. I still should have added perlite but I did not, hopefully by the next transplant it wont be too late. My hopes were to mom these out, check out the clones, then cut it all down if it's not up to par and bring in local clones.
Day 19 After the transplant. No sign of root gnats, so not sure what the smell was about. Hoping it resolves itself. The soil after all is full of dead bugs, bird poop, and worm feces. Hopefully the beneficial microbes will get in there and munch on any invasive colonies.
