Cherry Pie from Peace in Medicine

Hey Prizn. My current round of clones did come from PiM and I do think they were bug free when I got them. I didn't see any signs of damage for weeks and I'm pretty sure it came from my veg room. Good luck bro!

Oh, pleeeeeeeeeeeeease tell me it's true.

Oh, pleeeeeeeeeeeeease tell me it's true.

I might have to grab a couple of each and do a small cab run to see what's up. Looks like they have:
Med-USA (Cherry Pie x Candyland)
Candyland (GDP x Bay Platinum Cookies)
Bay 11 (Appalachia x OG)
GDP (Ken's)

Thanks for the tip SM!

That's the gold in my opinion.

Please tell me where you found those cuts. I checked Peace in Medicine's clone and seed menu for both locations and didn't see it, but of course it's been a full month since you first put that up.

I picked up 3 clones of Med-USA (is Ken's Medusa any relation? I never have been able to figure that one out, nor seen it) on July 2nd of last summer at Purple Heart in Oakland. It was just a random thing really... sister flew in from the east coast, hung out with me at the "farm" up in the hills for a week, then I took her down to SF for a week"fun trip" (she'd never been... had to make every custy stop in the whole Bay, but it was loads of fun anyway) before she flew back and a couple days before she leaves we decided she'll take me to Harborside b/c even though she's not Prop 215, I am and she wanted to at least see the building and hang out in the "parking lot from the TV show!" while I went in and grabbed every silly thing I could find.

I had actually decided to pick up some random clones while down there just to throw out in the "real" garden for some variety and kooky names/flavors. Well, Harborside was as typical (at least in my 3 visits) half-ass about everything, but it all came with pretty wrapping paper and a nice bow so I just like everyone else spent more $$$ than it was worth for medicine that looked and smelled great, but was really just average herb at best when it came to actual impact, but she had fun, so again, whatever. Before someone cries about sharing meds with a non patient... my sister is 23 years old, lives in one of those progressive-type New England states that have a medical cannabis law in effect AND she's a registered patient within that system, so bite me.

Long fucking story made short(er)... see this is what happens with the Med-USA (I broke into my last jar I intended on hiding from myself for as long as possible b/c I thought I might never see it again, but when I just randomly googled Candyland x Cherry Pie and saw this thread I got happier than a pig in shit and had to do it).

Long story short thing again... Harbor was fun for her, but their clones were the weakest, nutrient deprived, half-way rooted thing I'd seen in awhile. I'm serious. Not a winner anywhere that day in my book. So, we randomly drove further into Oakland and for the Purple Heart Collective so I could at least find something to take back to have fun with while my real trees were taking off. I had never been before and when I first looked at their menu I was a little put off because it was full of what I refer to as "name-game zaniness"... stuff like Charlie Sheen OG (actually turned out to be better than expected) and OG this and OG that, but nothing that seemed to have any realy OG lineage.

BUT, their clones, which were few, but flawless were 100% rawsome. Healthiest looking clones from a dispensary and when I got back up to my place in the hills and put them in seclusion to do a bug check and eradication before letting them meet their sisters I actually found none surprisingly. There were no mites, aphids in the cube or anything else you see a lot of with dispensaries. That day they had this Med-USA that has me medicated to the gills, Razzberry Kush with a Z, Blue Dream and GDP. I picked up 3 of each with the exception of GDP (just not a fan). The Razzbery b/c of this cut's broad Indica leaning fan leaves I knew it would thrive at my elevation, which it did, but was sub-par smoke and seemed plagued with some bad genetics.

Grabbed the Dream just b/c I always like to see how other alleged Blue Dreams turn out. I have the original clone-only and not any of this bastardized broad-leaf looking bagseed version or the seed companies that just let any ol' Blueberry and SSH fuck and hoped for the best and sold the rest. The Purple Heart's Blue Dream cut actually grew true, so to speak. Clones were put under the shade of an already large Bubba to harden off for about 2 weeks on July 2nd and transferred straight into 20-gal smarties after the 2 weeks, so maybe July 15th at best and they all 3 still produced just shy of 3 of that thin leafed saliva, yet rock hard and large kolas of perfumey indica looking bud that still won't purple much if at all by the time Thanksgiving is days away and they're REALLY ready (at least on my 3000 foot ridges micro-climate. I was impressed for sure that they had that instead of what you might actually call a Blue Haze or another similar phono to the real BD.

But, the point of all this fucking rambling and the thing that has me higher than giraffe pussy (which I'm loving BTW) was the Med-USA (Candyland x Cherry Pie). They were put into and under the same conditions as the rest of the clones I got that day. I pulled only roughly 12 ounces total from the 3, but thats what I expected at best as they were a definite unknown and were put out almost as late you would really want to here.

It's not like they had time for a proper outdoor veg, so the only training they really got was super crop around the 4th node and zero pruning. Just let them do their thing, but of course gave them all the accommodations, water and nutrients as need just like my real girls..

The result was a typical structure for an indica leaning hybrid like this (I'd say 60/40 really almost or damn close). The nugs on the things were just beautiful though and dense. What foliage it didn't shed was a beautiful color-wise by harvest with a good flush. AND it was finished (at least by my standards with about 2/3 good and cloudy on trichs and the rest having slipped into amber with as little clear as possible) 100% by the 1st of October, though they stayed in the pots almost a week after due to emergency logistics restructuring and some creative problem-solving for the dry/trim/cure part we all love. I will say that even though I do as little trimming as possible these days if I can help it it, the plant almost big leaf and trim's itself. Very high calyx to leaf ratio which is always nice! I actually only had 1 plant trimmed. I'd decided by then that I loved it so much that no one except my two trimmers and a good friend who swears by it for his insomnia (which it does me too, but tonight I'm obviously feeling the Candyland b/c I'm amped like a fresh cup of good coffee and a spliff of Sour D... probably b/c I'm so excited to finally see more mention of it) were allowed an ounce for their head. The rest I kept untrimmed except for obvious fan and sun leaves with little to no value trich wise because it created so much resin that a lot of times I'll just swipe my thumb over a bud and roll a J of the sugar leaf if I need this plant's definite calming and almost narcotic like effect for pain, but still need to function at 100%. It has been GREAT medicine, and fuck it, GREAT recreational fun, too for everyone I've shared it with when I'm not being stingy with it (so little left : cry :).

Anyway, to end this novella about nothing really... I took clones like a good boy, but I'm an idiot and let a T-5 be their demise when transplanting from their cubes to 16 oz. cups. At first I thought it'd be OK and I'd just call it the most severe super-cropping imaginable, but 6 clones died that day unfortunately and believe me when I say I tried everything but CPR and my thumb is so green it's got it's own little piece of wallpaper picture frame clutter to certify it,. I even went so far as to re-veg the 20 gallon pot I hadn't uprooted already and had just enough popcorn left and small shoots at the plan't base for me to pray to the herb gods that I might revive her. She was too rootbound and this wasn't until mid-November that I brought the pot in under the T-5's and MH on 24/0, but a month and a half in that condition and no water save for a sprinkle from above once or twice and she never stood a chance.

I hate to admit it, but my only glimmer of hope until now are two seeds I've found in my Med-USA stash . These plants were true females and no hermies, but 4 rather large The Church clones decided to show us her manly side after an entire summer of pre-flower sex signs that indicated female and a good 2 weeks into them actually forming bud sites in the first part of August. Then literally within 48 hours of each other balls and 'nanners reared their ugly heads and upon closer inspection we found a few open flower sites deep within the plant that I should should been more vigilant about and maybe could've caught a week earlier. It was a sad day chopping those 4 giants, but luckily minimal damage was done b/c only a few of the plants in the Church's vicinity (Med-USA being one) got seeded ever so slightly... like 10 (and that's liberal) maybe in a whole unit.

So, I love this strain for what it does medicinally, the high is fantastic and the smell is divine I'm even going to rsmnle on more about it.

Now that I know other people are aware it exists and clones are turning up I'm giddy like a school girl. If anyone knows of clones, seeds, whatever for this strain I'd love to know about it b/c I's just about drive to LA if it meant I could get it. I want to give her a proper summer and I think she'd blow up in a scrog.

Sorry for the looooooong ramble, but I'm so high and happy to see mention of this strain that I just went off... haha. I'm falling asleep at the keyboard... time to smoke one more bowl of these flowers and off to dreamland. Thanks, if you made it this far in reading! Goodnight! :dance013:

P.S. I'm so tired there's no way I'm proofreading this. Sorry for any grammar mistakes and ba spelling. I'm sure it's in there.

Before bed I did do a quick re-read and saw it was Mercy Wellness where you found Ken's genetics, but when I look at their menu online I see nothing, but flowers??? Is it something in the "members only" section?

Mercy has Candyland clones but they aren't in the best of health. They had Med USA as well but they might be waiting on a re-up. Not sure why their clones aren't listed on the website.. Feel free to post a picture of the stash in my thread. I'm interested.

Yo scooby! The genetics as I understand it are Grandaddy Purple x Durban Poison.

Was this from the location in sebastopol or santa rosa?

I picked up these from the Santa Rosa spot.

Damn Bo! That first reply was quite a post. Definitely have me interested in Med-USA now.

I have seen Mercy's current seeds and clones posted on weedmaps. Good luck bro!

The Med-USA clones I got from Purple Heart in Oakland looked a lot like the Candyland clones you have in your thread. However, the buds came out and smelled very much like Cherry Pie.

Believe me... ever since my dumb-ass killed the 6 clones I had taken (plus quite a few Blue Dreams) from the Med-USA I grew I've been snatching up any example of Candyland and Cherry Pie I can find.

The results with Candyland have been mixed as you would expect since Ken introduced them as standard seeds. I feel like most of the examples I've smoked leaned towards their GDP lineage, but with a strong sativa twist if that makes any sense.

Cherry Pie has been pretty consistent everywhere I've sourced it, though twice I've gotten it from a delivery service and it was definitely not Cherry Pie, but labeled as such.

I've got sooooooo many beans I wanted to pop this winter and grow out to find some new females fof my outdoor season, but because the property I leased was up on December 1st and the property I'm in the middle of desperately and as quickly as possible, too, trying to finalize the details on ownership won't be available for us to move into until mid-March it's taken everything I have to downsize to just a 5x5 grow space in the single-wide a friend was nice enough to rent out month to month until the new property was ready and have space for my moms and now a bunch of clones for this year.

I'd take pictures, but I'm so embarrassed by all the clutter and what I absolutely know is too small of a footprint for what I have crammed in there in terms of lighting. The trailer was re-wired by tweakers who lived here previously and god only know's why they did what they did, but they left me incapable of running a proper system without gutting my friend's trailer (which again is only temporary), run everything off a generator that concerns the grow (not an option due to location) or run the risk daily of starting a fire if I ran even a 1/4 of what I'd want for a proper veg/bloom/clones/experiments type set-up.

Soooooooo.... 5x5 Gorilla tent packed full of T5's and CFL's that were unintentionally, at first, hung so that a large % of their light was actually vertical is what I've had to stick with these last few months. It's enough to keep my stable happy and alive, but leaves no room for new buds or trials, but does keep the electricity usage way down, which is a must in this fire-trap. The vertical CFL lighting along with my bushmaster super cropping style has lead to loads of fresh shoots great for clones. These moms were re-done right before the move, so I'm thinking of re-doing them again once April/May rolls around and using these that have been in the tent this winter in at least a round of light depo, if not as some of my main ladies in 400's. There are already so many bud sites from the extra vert attention, not to mention I will have essentially "cropped" at every point I take more clones from.

So, the tent has produced one good result, but I wish I could pop those bastard seeds I found in my Med-USA from the evil Church hermies. It would be a long shot, but crazier shit has happened.
